In news on our indicted former superintendent: One of his co-defendants, Samuel Ross, is changing his plea from not-guilty. Ross’ texts with Horton were published by the government. The joke is the work was fake. Can’t imagine why he would try to avoid trial. 👊🏻🥂

I am looking forward to listening. We are currently redistricting and this piece came at an opportune time. Our current planning team says new magnets are unreasonable. The NHJ piece indicates we should revisit this. Redistricting should serve operational goals AND educational goals.

The government’s case against our indicted superintendent dropped last night. Trial starts 10/21. Here is a text of him and his friend laughing about stealing from kids via a no-show contract. About half (?) of the kickbacks only started AFTER he accepted the job with DCSD.

When I went through my mom’s stuff after she passed away, I found my junior year fall tuition bill for Syracuse. I lived off campus at my sorority house. My Stafford paid for that, leaving my parents’ balance to be $34. I left college with $12k in student loans, mostly for housing. Different time!

I cannot think of a worse result for this race- 3 flawed candidates with no mandate for the winner. Georgia’s runoff system is horrible for many reasons, but going forward with an arrogant candidate in a statewide race where 50%+ voters rejected him is not great for the seat. Good luck, Michigan.

He’s on his way to speak at a high school in Cobb County. It is a shameful rally on public school property. Their school board is partisan and if Michael Garza gets elected, the last political body in Cobb would turn Democratic and this nonsense would end.

I think I can’t stop following the MI campaign because it reminds me a bit of my down ballot race. It reinforces why people won’t run for office. My opponent posted on Facebook that I set a bad example for kids and my son overheard it at the pool. Also, I am not telegenic. But you still do it.

Brad Lander was my City Councilman. He has been doing this a long time and it is great to see him get this. Espaillat was the husband of one of the principals I worked for when I was a teacher. I learned about Washington Heights politics in the 90s. This borough breakdown is fascinating to me.

This morning, I qualified to run for the DeKalb County Board of Education, District 4. I did not plan to run and made my decision yesterday based on the chaotic rollout of redistricting. We need good representation. Pokémon Go to the polls, y’all.
