Amazing earthshine tonight!! The moon looks dimly lit from the “back”! This happens because the Earth’s albedo (measure of reflection)! We reflect light from the sun onto the side of the moon that is facing us! We call it earthshine! That illumination makes it feel like a pretty bauble in the sky!

Notice how we seem to be looking at the rings from underneath?? That’s because Saturn also wobbles on its axis! Sometimes we’re looking down at the rings too — but soon, we’ll be looking at them EDGE ON. which is so neat and a great way to see how thick/thin they really are!
