Vernacular buildings are functional and reflect local materials and knowledge. Logs were used to build cabins, caches, stores, and roadhouses. Some still stand at historic sites like Huchá Hudän/ Fort Selkirk and Gindèhchik/Rampart House. 100

They might seem like good souvenirs, or debris to clean up, but leave them be! It is unlawful to disturb these items. Many artifacts are made of iron which quickly deteriorates once removed from the river. 110
