T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 4hJust been told by someone on Facebook that I have a 'sexy mind' and - given my rapidly deteriorating physical state - I think it's the nicest compliment I'll ever get. 020
T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 5hWell the very idea of this conversation happening is a delight to me*. *The person who wrote that song. 030
T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 08/10/2026Delighted to discover that the second season/series of Traitors India is just as compelling as the first one. Ah man, it's *so* entertaining. 000
T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 08/10/2026Yeah. We're having a lot of fun. It's such a buzz to dick about onstage in front of 400 people and have them crying with laughter. It's a privilege, really. And the novelty isn't yet showing signs of wearing off. I consider myself very fortunate indeed. 110
T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 08/10/2026It's really tough to gauge. We regularly gig to 'a few hundred' and - arguably - work best like that. But that's not to say we can sell hundreds of tickets on our own. And it's fair to say our audience has easily grown by a multiple of ten since Edinburgh. But who knows? It's always such a gamble. 110
T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 08/10/2026I'm partly only writing that because we're about to announce the biggest show we've ever done*, and I'm a bit paranoid about it, and *really* don't want to have to post something like this as it gets close. *that isn't a mixed bill-type thing. It's just in our name. 130
T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 08/10/2026Pictured: Merz, telling people to keep their hands inside the waltzers at all times. 100
T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Pffft... Those movies haven't been the same since Barbara Windsor left the cast. 111921
T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Many years ago I started writing a song about those kitchen appliances that people buy and then leave in the cupboard to gather dust. It was called 'Sympathy for the Breville'. Somewhat fittingly I shelved it and never went back to it. 010
T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Daughter made me put on a false beard (as daughters do) - and there were cherry bakewells there, so I did the obvious thing. 030
T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Jim Morrison: "This song is called 'Love Me Two Times'..." Me [shouting above the applause]: "I THINK YOU MEAN 'TWICE'." 130
T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 06/10/2026If I could crowbar 'carabiner' into a post I would but I can't. 100
T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 05/10/2026I'm not saying that BBC News has a 'type' but... 110
T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 05/10/2026Music fact: It took 22 takes to record the opening line to Mel & Kim's 'Respectable'. 0102
T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 05/10/2026"Thank you for calling Abseiling Advice - please hold the line". 140
T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 05/10/2026You'd need those funny little cycling shoes that clip on, I guess. 000
T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 05/10/2026I think one of the worst things about being a Minotaur would be trying to find a cycling helmet that fits. 230
T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Interesting. Either way it's a glorious arrangement of letters. 000
T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 03/10/2026I started to get the giggles onstage tonight, which you'll know - if you've ever seen us live - is a fairly catastrophic turn of events. Particularly as it was in a bit when I need to be at my grumpiest/most serious. I think I just about got away with it. Hope nobody in Lyme Regis noticed. 030
T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Haha! I mimed kneading my eyes to my family too, and we were all laughing about it. 😂 010
T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 02/10/2026The thing that really stuck with me from last night's episode of Celebrity Traitors was the lady who said she was going to remain 'doughy-eyed'. Not 'doe-eyed' - having big eyes like those of a baby deer. 'Doughy-eyed' - having eyes that are all squidgy like dough. It's a hell of an image. 260
T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 01/10/2026It's one of their best. Top 30 at least. And that's quite impressive. 010
T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 01/10/2026I don't know where the extra 'e' came from. I can only apologise. 100
T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Anyway - we'll be heading back to the same venue in February - to perform in the heats of the Musical Comedy Awards again. This time - yeah, this is the satisfying narrative arc bit - we'll be the headliners. *drops mic* *sheepishly picks mic up again and mouthes 'sorry!' to the sound engineer* 150
T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 01/10/20265 years ago we played our first ever comedy gig. It was in one of the heats of the Musical Comedy Awards. After each of the heats, there's a headline act - in our case it was Jess Robinson (Last Leg, Horrible Histories, etc.) We didn't get voted through to the next round by the audience. Swines. 110
T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Can't say I've ever seen it, to be honest. Also - that's not how irony works. But I get your point. 100
T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Thanks. It's kinda made me feel like I'M the one who doesn't get it. I've had probably somewhere between 15 and 20 replies, nearly all complete nonsense. Threads seems to be populated with people who just don't 'get it'. It's quite odd. 110
T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 30/09/2026It has blown my mind to realise that so many simply don't understand the mechanics of a simple joke like that. Is it just me? I know I have a tendency to overthink things, but this seems like a *very* basic joke format. Yet *so* many people are fucking it up. Sorry. I just needed to vent. 150
T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Lots of people have started replying with their own take on the joke, but almost all of them have missed the point. They're putting things like 'The most unclear band was easily Blur'. NO. STOP IT. THAT'S NOT HOW THE JOKE WORKS. READ WHAT YOU'VE WRITTEN, FFS. 330
T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 30/09/2026I've held off writing this, because I think it'll probably make me sound like a madman, but I recently posted a joke on Threads and the replies are *really* infuriating me - by joining in, but missing the joke entirely. I posted 'The most gullible 90s band was easily Suede'. I wrote it years ago. 150
T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Good, innit? And they have them in lots of aquariums (god, I *really* wanted to write 'aquaria'). This was actually the Oceanarium in Bournemouth. 100
T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 30/09/2026This feels a lot like one of those 'didn't happen' posts. But it did happen. She's nearly 14 and *loves* a bit of wordplay. She's my daughter. Duh. 1150
T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Took my daughter to an aquarium recently. She was *delighted* to see this black and white fish. "Look Dad! It's FINDING EMO!". 521624
T'Other Simon @tothersimon.bsky.social · 30/09/2026And - to be clear - this isn't a one-off pop-up. It appears every time I use the app. Which is several times a day. And it has done for weeks. The options appear to be 'try it' or 'ask me again in an hour'. It's bloody relentless. I don't *want* to remove myself from engagement with my audience. 000
