Hey @netflix.com, we’re so proud of your many accomplishments, but your mother and I have some concerns about this acquisition. Why don’t you come on by soon so we can chat. You can say hi to the cats while you’re here. Love youuu xoxoxo Mom and Dad

Hi Mom and Dad,

We recently announced that Netflix will acquire Warner
Bros., including its film and television studios, HBO Max
and HBO. This unites our leading entertainment service
with Warner Bros.' iconic stories, bringing some of the
world's most beloved franchises like Harry Potter, Friends,
The Big Bang Theory, Casablanca, Game of Thrones and
the DC Universe together with Stranger Things,
Wednesday, Squid Game, Bridgerton and KPop Demon
Hunters.

What's changing?
Nothing is changing today. Both streaming services will
continue to operate separately. We have more steps to
complete before the deal is closed, including regulatory
and shareholder approvals. You'll hear from us when we
have more to share. In the meantime, we hope you'll
continue to enjoy watching as much as you want,
whenever you want - all on your current membership plan.

We know you might have questions. Check out our Help
Center for more information or contact us at any time.

Thank you for choosing Netflix. We're committed to
bringing you more great TV shows, movies, games and
live programming.

The Netflix team

Name a jauntier road sign. I’ll wait.

US road sign W1-13L which warns truck drivers not to take a corner too sharply lest they flip their truck. It also looks a little like the truck is jumping up to do a heel click

@skeetsapp.com thanks for a great app. Is there a way to have threads behave similarly to the first-party app? My timeline grows explosively with long threads because each reply appears individually. I want to see threads and replies, would love them to stay grouped. More explanation in alt text ❤️

A screenshot of my timeline in the first-party bluesky app showing a short thread and some surrounding skeets for context. The thread appears just once in the timeline.

A screenshot of the same moment in my timeline, as seen in the Skeets app. The first message appears at the bottom of the screenshot, followed by an unrelated post above it, and then the second skeet of the thread (along with the first again) at the top of the screenshot.

This example is very small, but the behavior becomes exponentially noisier when you follow people who habitually post long threads, and each one appears several times in your timeline, either as a new reply or in context for a subsequent reply.

lmao Shuji weaponizing the Shaft head tilt

A collage of anime characters tilting their head in an extremely awkward fashion that is somehow popular in anime

Just started MS Gundam GQuuuuuuX and I'm loving it. It's as silly and melodramatic as I'd hoped, and the character designs and colors remind me of nothing so much as The World Ends with You

Oh I know what you’re referring to

The box art of The Sims Medieval featuring a number of medieval period Sims characters. There’s also a castle.

As terrifying as this week has already been, I’ve seen so much cause for hope and resilience. I’m glad to see folks like @billcorbett.bsky.social and @sarahz.bsky.social rallying people toward resources that are helping, and grateful for the opportunity to do what I can.
