When our players are looking forward to our next #ttrpg session, they'll post in our discord server "is it [game day] yet?" So a while back, I made a command for our server bot to answer that question with a number of different random responses. Today this gem came up, it always makes me chuckle.

What it's like to get invested into a #ttrpg

A four panel comic by the artist Poorly Drawn Lines, slightly edited and labeled to make a joke about playing ttrpgs. A hedgehog character labeled "spouse, family, or friends" asks a mouse character labeled "D&D players" the following question: "So, how's D&D going?"

Over the course of the next three panels, the mouse replies "Oh, you know. Chronic existential dread punctuated by moments of great fun. Can't complain."

By the way, they later upgraded the chart to magnetic points they could easily move around the chart as they learnt more about each NPC.

A little bit late for Valentine's Day, but this feels relevant. Throwback to that time a few years ago when my #pf2e group (then playing #dnd5e) charted all the male NPCs they had met so far on a "Daddy Chart", comparing their alignment and "Daddy Levels".

Throwback to that time @robo.aedelor.com and I got a birthday cake for a member of our #ttrpg group and covered it with one d20 for every year. Thankfully we didn't miss any when it came to digging in and no choking occurred lol.
