The unfortunate reality of being a parent to an extremely playful and loving cat who doesn’t know when to NOT use her claws properly… Worth it for this little girl!

As we now begin Week 3 of my Residency on GDQ’s channels (now 4th run in less than 20 days), I’m back running Pokémon Omega Ruby but I only can use the Piplup line! See you all Friday night on @ozmourn.bsky.social’s show! Here’s the 1st run from my Sept. 28 GDQ appearance! youtu.be/sZ5-Qhhvhq4?...

Four-year-old Toronite, playing the original Spyro 1 in PR, would NEVER have dreamt to be doing this on @gamesdonequick.com repping Latines/Hispanic speedrunning and repping Puerto Rico tonight! Incredible stuff for someone who grew up in the small towns of Añasco & Cabo Rojo! Thank you everyone 🇵🇷

Thinking about the time I hit Rocket Storage live on stage at SGDQ earlier this year, genuinely one of the proudest moments of my speedrunning career, pulling off one of the most pressure-filled tricks in all of Spyro speedrunning IMO.

Did not expect the sub-6 today in 117% but we'll happily take it! Might even see if I can get to the low 5:XX:XX now that I see the time saves all over the place!

No, that's not a typo on the schedule! I am in fact running back the SRT - 80 Dragons NBS run for a second straight Saturday!! This second run has a lot to live up to after getting a PB at GDQueer, but we'll have a lot of fun during a weekend celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month!

Not gonna lie, I think I cooked so hard with these submissions. Lot of these are bangers, but also, I have never spent so much time working on submissions for an event than AGDQ 2027 in my life. Pokémon Trade Alt Main runs would be so fun to do, especially if I get to bring this wheel to Atlanta!

Ridiculously good first half of the run that was marred by a laughably bad Tree Tops and Gnasty Gnorc. Kind of mad that I missed out on the 42, but we keep on trucking!

FUCK CANCER! Out of the country this week attending my grandmother's funeral. She's one of the most important people in my life. This has been one of the hardest weeks of my life. I'm not okay (and won't be for a long time), but I am okay. Much love to you all. Hug your loved ones, cherish them.

FUCK CANCER!

On September 11, I got the phone call I never wanted to hear…my grandmother finally took her eternal rest after 5 years of battling cancer. A very important figure in my life, gone…

It’s been really hard to put into words what the past few days have been like for me and my family.

Am I okay? Yes

Am I really okay?….probably not.

My grandmother was one of the most important people in my life and no matter how much I braced myself for that day, it doesn’t make the pain hurt any less. Seeing my grandma in a casket, for the very last time, left me feeling empty, like a part of my life is just gone.

I’m not gonna shout to the sky why she had to be taken when she still had so much life left to give. I know that sometimes, life just is that way. I wish there were so many things I could say to her but I know she would have been proud of everything I’ve been able to achieve. I live in my own house, with a wonderful, lovely and supportive partner and two beautiful cats, I have a good job, I’m having fun with my hobbies and occasionally use that hobby to raise a lot of money for charity.

The last time I saw her in person before she departed was Mother’s Day this year, fully knowing there was a good chance it was the last time I got to see her, the last time I got to hold her hand, the last time I got to talk to her, tell her how much I loved her, give her a kiss.

And now she’s gone.

This whole week, I've been replaying in my head all the good times I had with her and reliving all my experiences and even I was a little surprised how much she's shaped my life. And for that I will be forever grateful for her. I am so blessed to have had such a wonderful grandmother who cared for me so much and had so much love to give to not only to me, but to her whole family and her community.

I will keep marching on, continue to live my life as best as I can. It won’t be easy in the short term, but eventually, it will be more manageable.

If I sometimes appear like I’m acting as my old, (weird) self, it’s cause I am trying to keep as close to a mental routine as I can, and making sure that I can keep facing things forward with a positive attitude. I am surrounded by friends and family right now, who are all sharing in the loss, so I am not alone.

I will be returning to prep for AGDQ submissions and upcoming marathons, including next month’s GDQueer run when I come back to the US later this week. I refuse to let the grief take over my life. My way of battling the sadness is to keep moving forward, no matter how slow it is. I choose to celebrate her life by living life, doing the things that make me happy, being a good partner, friend and person.

I know that’s what she would have wanted. You inspire me to be a better person and I will forever work towards being that.

My hope is to one day see this disease rid of once and for all so that no one has to suffer through it. So that no one has to see their loved ones go through something so terrible.

Te amo un montón Abuela! Abrazos y bendiciones por siempre.

2.5 miles in 23 minutes is far from my best. Purposefully took the foot after the gas pedal post-GDQ to give my body a break but that break went on for far longer than intended. So basically I’m now back to having to start from the ground up. At the very least, I’m not TOTALLY washed, right???
