Another thing I’m excited about is the overall team athleticism. I can’t remember the last time a Celtics roster had this many insane athletes on it. It’s been a weakness for them especially as they’ve gone deeper in the playoffs.

The Celtics confirmed to me last night that they’ll be an absolute juggernaut in the regular season season. The possession-maxing style, and obviously improved defense (Mitch, PG) is a recipe to win tons of games with the type of offensive weapons they have. Also Devin Carter should make this team

Easier to get to the paint when you have an elite screen setter and roller on the court at all times. Can’t switch a guard onto big Mitch or Quetta because it’s either a dunk or an o-reb. Last year was tough because nobody respected Luka or Vuc from 3 esp in the playoffs

They didn’t have 2 elite rim running bigs and screen setters. They had two pick and pop guys that nobody really respected.

I think they’re going to lean heavily into high ball screens with 2 elite rim running bigs and lights out catch and shoot guys at every other wing and guard position. Tatum, Derrick, PP great pick and roll + pull up threats.

Agree on Jaylen too, but I think his bad qualities were accentuated worse in the playoffs. Aside from 24, he had some really tough playoff moments. I think he was a guy that coaches were able to exploit easier in a series. But time will tell when it comes to playoff success.

I agree about the regular season stuff when it comes to the off rebounding. Where I think Mitch can help them big time in the playoffs is always having an elite rim defender on the court.

I agree with pressuring opponents inside which is why Mitch is so huge. They have the best off rebounder of all time, and another elite offensive rebounder in Queta. That’s the pressure in the paint, along with 3 really solid pull up 3point shooters. Tough to defend

I thought that maybe Jaylen getting tunnel vision and high jacking the offense with long middies and live ball turnovers wasn’t helping. I also don’t think Paul George is the player they brought in too change how the team plays. I think Mitch Robinson is the player that does that.

Also they only have one other 6’10 guy who does all those things.
