had a cool thing happen to me today... had to go to cape caneveral for work and I was there during a rocket launch... about 1/4 mile away from the launchpad.. it was soooo loud and the ground shaking was intense... and the first stage landed in the same area... the sonic booms were crazy loud

hi all. Been doing very well at the new job, even though i'm trying to deal with the crazy FL heat. Learning a lot and getting things done and the bosses seem to like it. The job isn't too hard but isn't easy either, it's really unique but I like it. I think there is a chance for advancement too.:)

first day at work was good :) lotsa training started. I made serious brownie points today too... one of the other offices was having network problems so I helped them get back online over the phone troubleshooting

I need new tires on my car and i've been pricing them at several places and man oh man I cannot believe how much tires have increased in price. It seems the best deals I can find are at walmart so i'm going to see what I can get within my budget. The most expensive tires have been at costco

great news... After going through 3 interviews I got the job offer! I even got a couple of bucks more per hour because of my networking experience. It took nearly 4 months but i'm glad the search is over. On to bigger things!

I just had an over the phone interview with a company I applied to, where they explained the details of the job and asked questions about my experience and outlook for this particular job. I feel it went well and they will contact me within 2 weeks for a formal interview. hoping it goes well :)

I met Randy many years ago on Long Isl during Project 51 while the restored squad was being taken to the smithsonian. He was honestly the nicest and most down to earth guy I ever met. He thanked ME for being a FF/medic, which HE was responsible for me becomming. I personally will miss him.

it's been two whole months now of job searching and I have YET to find anything. 99% of the applications go unanswered and 1% get a polite rejection, even tho they never say WHY they reject you. I Don't understand this anymore. WTF am I doing wrong?

my blood pressure is a bit low for me today. I feel terrible and want this damn illness to pass already. it's very painful and the discomfort is just bearable rn. but it's worse when I lay down :( How am I Supposed to get any damn rest like this.

I swear there are more scammers out there than there are real jobs available. Every time you try and fill out an application, you get bombarded by emails "looking for you" based on your information. Then when you click them you get asked for more information that has nothing to do with the job

so yesterday, after dealing with 4 days of extreme diahheria with a ton of blood and mucus, I went to the hospital. They kept me there all day and rehydrated me. after running a ton of tests they determined that I have an intestinal infection thats causing colitis. They order an antibiotic for me

i've been finding out that filling out job applications isn't as straight forward as it used to be. Just because you fill out something dosen't mean it's legit or even making it to the company you're applying to.

I just can't win. My quest 2 controller developed a BAD drift so I replaced the joystick like I did with the left one. When I put it back together again I put a screw in one of the thousand of holes on the part and it was the wrong hole, scored the board underneath and ruined the controller :(

the union just called me and confirmed that the USPS will not take me back simply because the incident happened within my 90 day probationary period. there was no blame admitted or accused but simply because my 90 days was not completed yet :(

i'm a complete loser... all the job looking and applying has told me that i'm behind the times and out of the loop in many aspects of the IT profession. Even driving jobs have dropped to under $20 per hour making it impossible for someone to survive today. I just dunno what to do anymore.

in case anyone wants to know what happened. I got into a minor accident at work, hit a power line that was hung too low. no damage to the truck at all but I still had to report it to my supv. Because I was TWO days away from being off my 90 day probationary period they fired me outright.

I had my 30 day evaluation today and got a satisfactory rating from my supervisors. Time really flew by. i'm still learning a lot as I go but it's nice to know that my supervisors think i'm doing very well so far.

I passed all of my training requirements today and am officially off of training as of tonight :) kinda scary but exciting too. I just hope I don't screw up somewhere.

Today was real work. Had to deliver a load to daytona beach. Got the delivery done and went back for another load. It was interesting going past the speedway while the thunderbirds were practicing their fly bys. But the job itself is going well. I still have more training to do before i'm alone.

So today was training day on the hydralic liftgate and loading/unloading properly. AKA lets see just how out of shape I really am. Boy I tell you, i'm really badly out of shape and I had a really hard time doing what needed to be done but I did my best. I hope that over time i'll get better.

well I suppose I can say it now. I got accepted for a job with the US Postal Service. I've gone through the initial steps already and i'm waiting for the next steps to be told. I Don't know where i'll be working yet. I'm hoping the next, paying steps will come quickly :)

Had an interview this morning and they said I did not pass one of the personality tests I took so they would not be able to hire me on. I feel this world is going to hell with all this AI driven crap running how people get hired today. I have plenty of qualifications but AI says nope. :(

man what a miserable end of year i'm having. My brakes on my car failed because of a vacuum sensor going bad. thankfully I could still stop but it took some effort... pretty dangerous. I went to the dealer and got it fixed but with the diag and part n labor it cost me $700 of money I don't have. :(

I went to see the dr this morning about my injury and it's apparently healing well but since it was so deep it'll take a while longer to heal properly. They're putting me on an antibiotic to be safe and that should help the swelling. At least it's getting better instead of worse

GOt home from #WFCP sunday afternoon and by sunday night I was miserably sick. Monday was fever chills and coughing my brains out for 24 hours. Tuesday was get sleep and break fever. Today i'm still somewhat congested but not nearly as bad as I was. Plus My appitite came back big time.

Just got home from #WFCP and man I had fun. It was really nice seeing friends again. I did get hurt pretty badly Friday morning but i'm recovering. Thanks to everyone who helped me and asked how I was doing it's greatly appreciated. Hope to see everyone again soon :)
