Great catch this week, I was able to get all these from the same seller in different online auctions for a single combined shipping cost. €12 for all five plus €5 for shipping.

Men ur ditt perspektiv då?

010
Tony Ingesson @tonyingesson.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

You know what's also nice about business cards? If you don't like it when someone gives one to you, just throw it away. It won't harvest your biometric data or act as a concealed surveillance device.

I already have access to a technology with the same potential! I never take my phone out when I network with people. Also, the tech I use has limitless battery capacity, fits in my inner pocket easily and is really cheap! It's called business cards. www.cnet.com/tech/mobile/...
A man walks into a party and spends the evening networking with new people without getting his phone out even once. As he leaves at the end of the night, he tells his smart glasses to add the people he just met that evening on LinkedIn with a note about how they could collaborate.

This is the vision that Shawn Shen, co-founder of Memories.ai, put forward at Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit in Hawaii last week. Shen presented this idea as a net positive – a problem solved. In this scenario, the glasses were allowing the man to be fully present and handing off the labor of remembering everyone’s names and faces to an invisible third party.

Battery life on this laptop is not great (3-4 hrs), but that's mainly because it's been configured for performance (I use it for CPU/GPU-heavy tasks). Battery life on my old ThinkPad with Linux Mint was excellent though and it still easily holds up for at least four-five hours under regular use.

Things work really well both at the surface interface level with usual daily work stuff involving files, e-mails, writing etc. as well as under the hood with Nvidia drivers etc. being rock solid despite the complicated hardware setup on this machine (dual GPUs for offloading heavy tasks).

Update: after three months, I've gradually switched over to using this laptop as my daily driver for work while my trusty old Thinkpad with Linux Mint is now only used when I travel (since it's much smaller and lighter). The Debian+KDE combo both looks and works great, it's been very smooth sailing.

Lund played an important role in the process (the prototype was developed here in a collaboration between Lund University and Ericsson), so unsurprisingly the university website features a more detailed version of the story: www.lunduniversity.lu.se/bluetooth-5g...

I'm a bit surprised it isn't higher, it must be the lower rates in southern Europe that are affecting the average. Here in Sweden, it's 45%. In Norway, it's 98.7%.

Some of the stuff we research means you have to visit weird and unreliable websites to see if there's any relevant data on them, for tracking suspicious companies for example. This is when dedicated OSINT equipment you can easily wipe/restore from standardized image backups comes in handy.

When my colleagues were testing out my Raspberry Pi OSINT workstations, one of them managed to get one contaminated with Chrome malware. Perfect illustration of why I tell my students to use dedicated hardware that is isolated from their personal equipment/accounts, and then can be easily wiped.

The new Faculty of Medicine building is really nice. Time to meet up with the rest of the multidisciplinary team to discuss our progress and I'll get to demo some of the stuff I've been working on (OSINT and red teaming misc tech).

Logically, the interference must have distorted the signal from the Pi when it tried to broadcast credentials to log on to networks just enough to make the network refuse connections. Great fun finding these esoteric failure scenarios when one is pressed for time...
010
Tony Ingesson @tonyingesson.bsky.social · 24/09/2026
Everything connected without a hitch. Turns out, since I was in "my" studio at work where I keep a lot of equipment, there must have been an electromagnetic field jamming the Pi's wifi just enough to make it impossible to connect (but the Pis could still scan for networks and attempt to connect).

Tony Ingesson @tonyingesson.bsky.social · 24/09/2026
Then this morning I tried a different Pi with a completely different setup, one that was working fine at home. Exact same problem. Couldn't connect to my phone hotspot or Eduroam. Finally it dawned on me, and I took the Pi out of the room at work I was in and tried the same thing in my office.
100
Tony Ingesson @tonyingesson.bsky.social · 24/09/2026
I figured it was some sort of Eduroam quirk so I spent a lot of time trying to troubleshoot that. Then the Raspberry Pi wouldn't connect to my phone hotspot. It must be the wifi on the Pi, I thought. So I experimented with various command-line tools, settings, etc. Nothing worked, complete mystery.

I have a demo of various hardware and software stuff I've been working on today for the rest of the team, including people coming down from Stockholm for this event. Then I tried to check some stuff at work last night and suddenly my Raspberry Pis refused to connect to the wireless network.
