iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

Sorry, I haven't been on social media in 6 years. I just assumed all of the Alt accounts were legit. Silly me, I suppose.

In what country is it illegal to copy physical media that you own onto a digital device? I'm genuinely curious.

I'm suddenly reminded why I gave up social media 6 years ago. 9 days into this experiment and I give up. Congrats, world.

That said, I have no sympathy for those who push hate and violence towards other people for qualities that are innate to their being. Skin color, ethnicity, sex, gender, sexuality. All of these things we cannot control and should not be a basis for hate.

I generally try to be kind to my fellow humans. Life sucks for the average person, particularly here in the United States, and no one needs more negative energy, especially when they are just trying to survive in a world that hates us.

I'm allergic to most antibiotics, and the ones I'm not are ones that have been developed within the last 15 years or so. My reactions range from severe hives to severe nausea/vomiting. Not considering those an allergic reaction is dangerous. While not as fast as anaphylaxis, dehydration still kills.

Your average Gen X and Millennial knows this, but I doubt anyone younger does. TL;DR: it is perfectly legal to burn a physical media (CD/dvd/blu-ray) you own onto a USB portable hard drive to carry with you wherever you go.

Meme reminding people that they can buy USB connectable CD, DVD, and blu-ray players, and an external hard drive with lots of space, and with these burn all of your physical CD, DVD, and blu-ray, on portable external hard drives, and have them anywhere they go and it is perfectly legal.

I do not support Trump. We have credible reports that the USPS is working on a very flawed system to enact the administration's demands, where one error will void hundreds of thousands of ballots. You want to take a chance with that, knock yourself out.

This isn't stoking fear, this is sound advice. The administration is doing it's damnedest to rig the mid-terms, and they have a credible chance of messing with mail-in ballots. Telling people to turn them in in-person is reasonable given the threat.

How anyone can continue to support this shit-stain, I'll never understand. I'm not surprised he's lying about being part of America's most traumatic event. I'm disappointed that there are people who believe him.

I have an incredibly strong bias against genAI. I am in my last semester of my Biology BS, and watching Gen Z rely almost completely on genAI for everything has been disheartening. This study proposes AI to help with medical screening, and it might just have changed my mind that all AI is bad.

Male archeologists have been rewriting or flat out erasing women's leading roles in historic societies for millennia. It's nice to see someone pointing a flashlight at the truth, uncomfortable as it might be for male readers. Imagine: men aren't the center of the universe. Shocking, I know.

Deep breath checkpoint! Are you doomscrolling? Unclench your jaw and spend a few seconds taking deep breaths as you watch this American Redstart play with their food (processing a moth before they can eat it). Such hyper little pals! #birds

We will not be divided. 💛❤️💛

New Mexico’s name is not up for debate. It has been here since long before the United States was even an idea. Why is the President spending his time making memes and harassing the people of our state—while inflation is through the roof, gas prices are sky high, people cannot afford food, healthcare, and housing, and he has dragged our country into an illegal war in the Middle East that has claimed the lives of American service members, wounded hundreds of soldiers, and killed thousands of civilians? The answer is clear: Donald Trump has failed our country, failed our economy, and failed our people—and is seeking to distract and divide us.

We will not be divided. We will just defeat him and his failed policies using every tool we have.

TX isn't the only state reliant on the Rio Grande. It's the last state. CO and NM had the river first, and we're both suffering. I live in Albuquerque, NM, and the Rio Grande is currently bone dry where it runs along the western side of the city. Address climate change first, then complain.

The study has been published in The New England Journal of Medicine. YES, it is PEER-REVIEWED. • www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.... • www.nature.com/articles/d41... 🧪🧵⬇️

Key Takeaways
• No antivirals are approved as postexposure prophylaxis for household contacts of people with COVID-19.
• In this randomized study, 2.9% of household contacts who took ensitrelvir developed COVID within 10 days, as compared with 9% of placebo recipients.
•The FDA has approved ensitrelvir (Xocova) for postexposure prophylaxis of COVID-19 in adults and children 12 years or older, making it the first and only oral antiviral authorized to help prevent symptomatic infection after exposure.
