Serious question. If they succeed in charging Smith with lying before Congress, wouldn’t the evidence he needed for the subpoenas all come out? Do they want that? It’s unlikely to happen, I agree, because I’m sure Smith did not walk into any traps. He knew what he was doing when he testified.
