Was going to add this book to the ESPionage reading list, It's on theme; spies, psychics, and liminal spaces. But I couldn't finish it. The narrator of the 3rd act uses the F-word once or twice per sentence. Reading it was like being stuck on a flight near a potty-mouthed dude who never shut up.

Played my first game of Shadowdark over the weekend. My half-orc fighter was on fire, rolling 20 after 20. I haven’t played much in the D&D adjacent space in the last decade. It was fun. More like a board game instead of an RPG, but an RPG is what I'm looking for.

Born and raised in Beatosu, Ohio, Frank Dixon grew up watching reruns of Force III and studying Yubiwaza at the local dojo. He studied criminal justice, but instead of police work, he ended up doing private security for Contoso Ltd. before being recruited by the American House.
Frank spent decades immersed in his job on the Strip, deep cover work that required severing himself from his past. Until one day, he received an anonymous letter informing him of the death of his mother. Breaking protocol, Frank figured he’d given his life to the American House. They owed him a trip to his mother’s funeral. Frank set out for Beatosu,
but Beatosu didn’t exist.
The hometown filled with so many favorable memories was a paper town, a geographical work of fiction a publisher placed on a map to make it unique and easier for the publisher to find pirated copies.
Beatosu wasn’t Frank’s only fictional memory. The TV show Force III never aired.
Yubiwaza, the martial art he’d studied, applied, and taught, wasn’t from Japan. It was made up to sell fighting instruction manuals from ads on the back of comic books. Contoso is a fiction company created by a technical writer at Microsoft to use as examples for its training manuals.
His whole life was a phantomnation, nothing before his time on the Strip ever existed.
Infuriated, he stormed back to his dealer, demanding answers. For his decades of loyal service, they owed him that much. But instead all it got Frank was burned.
Frank caught wind of Andree’s pending Burn Notice before the fateful letter sent him on his course of self-discovery. Of course, he has no idea who sent that letter, but they’d better have some answers when he finds them.

Checking out the San Diego Mormon Temple. It's just been renovated, so they're letting nonbelievers take a tour. No pictures of the inside. As a former Catholic, a place of worship doesn't feel right without incense.

Had a successful playtest of "Traces to Nowhere" this third adventure for ESPionage. This one replicates the Brindlewood Bay mystery mechanic using Fate's Overcome. They didn’t solve the mystery, but they had fun getting sidetracked and joined a militia. #FateRPG #TTRPG
