Though if on some page, the home page for example, it has to merge image and text. I prefer to make the image small, so it will be less distracting and good for revisiting. Anyways, this is my site link: tomyandesign.com

I tried to make the design as clean as possible, so on each page, I tried to use images as an accent, not mainly, which will distract the reader and increase the cognitive load. Thus, I tried my best to make each one unique for their property, gallery for gallery, text for text.

Just updated my personal site to the third version, expanding the site to a multi-page site and restructured the architecture to make it easier to maintain in the long term. Also, from a design perspective, I removed the visual distraction and made it cleaner and more minimal.

Just updated the site to a new layout. It's still a temporary version. Now, I'm organizing the site structure by combining the future content plan. I think the site will update as well as my biz site. Yes, they are both under-construction and willl update later🛌

I made a big upgrade to my little `font-size-adjust` tool. You can now upload a font, configure some variable axes if needed, and it will spit out the values you'd need for `ex-height`, `cap-height` or `ch-width`. clagnut.com/sandbox/font... #css #typography

I don’t actually like case studies these kind of “business stuffs” where I think they should be written on the professional one. The personal site should be “professional” but more like conveying your own idea about yourself , taste, and preferred design style.

Currently, the whitespace is still not consistent enough. I will start to go through every detail for each page tmr, establishing the design system for Typography, Whitesapce, and Buttons.

The basic reusable components contain: 1. Buttons 2. Section components - Home page, how it works section list - Home page product details section details list - Testimonials - Form elements - CTA card 3. Header 4. Footer 5. CTA

Wrapped up the very first draft of the high-fidelity wireframe for Morro. After this step, it has: 1. Rough draft of all the pages (layout) 2. All page navigation 3. Typography system, 1st draft 4. Whitespace system, 4px system, 1st draft 5. Basic reusable components
The 1st web design high-fidelity wireframe for Morro, a premium coffee subscription brand. It totally has 8 pages. Each from left to right is the home page, product page, product details page, how it works page, about us page, learn page, help center page, and contact page.

The home page design will definitely be iterated; however, since I built the IA first, I know the page transition between each other. Yet, it's still not a good practice for web design.
000
Tom @tomyandesign.bsky.social · 15/04/2025
I should do the entire wireframe before I design every detail for the pages. However, can't wait to do the first design anymore. I just finished the shop page wireframe, and tmr I will draw out the entire wireframe and connect those pages with the IA and sitemap I set up a few days ago.
The home page design for Morro, a premium coffee subscription brand. Since the page is too large, I separate them into 3 pieces, from left to right. The first one is header + hero + philosophy + how it works. The 2nd one is product + product details + personas tailored. The 3rd one is testimoial + CTA + footer.

"AI work is just as good as human work" is a statement that *always* flows from the direction of power. Employers to workers, producers to consumers, but not the reverse. Because it's not a thing people actually believe, but an argument: slop is good enough for you; you are slop.

Spent these few days documenting the entire design process (still not done yet) from research to strategy to design while reading a lot of articles to ensure the step isn’t just based on my experience but actually grounded in real definitions and UX principles.

Also, recently, I designed and developed a mini Sims-like game in my free time. The core mechanics are up and running, and I’ve just wrapped the basic code. Next step: connecting everything with condition logic in the next few days 🎮

Starting today, I’m documenting the full design process from research to strategy to final design. Defining user tasks, information architecture, and user flows gets a bit complex, but it’s fun turning the chaos into something more structured and professional 😬.
