Found this spoon amongst mum’s stuff. It’s for fried eggs. It’s brilliant, someone should start making them again!
A photograph of large silver spoon. The handle is about as long as a serving spoon, the bowl bit is circular but with the left side cut off so that it is flat on that side. The design means you can easily ladle oil over the egg or lift it out of the frying pan.

Switch to a hybrid closed loop yesterday. It appears to be rather good at managing my blood glucose #t1d
Screenshot of an iPhone showing my blood glucose readings since midnight. The data is presented as a line graph, the line is flat, with very small variations around ca. 5 mmol/L. There is a large number at the top showing my current blood glucose which reads 4.3 mmol/L.

I realise this makes me sound like an old man shouting at the clouds but why would you do this? Why not repaint the whole thing?

Of all the words, the US use of the word ‘yard’ causes me the greatest cultural dissonance. I hear yard, I visualise this sort of thing…
A yard in the UK is an area with a hard surface, typically surrounded by buildings and often commercial in nature.

BBC News now requires viewers to register / be signed in to watch streams. Requiring this for entertainment is one thing, entirely another for the national broadcaster to require this for news. Why should it be ok to track my views?

I’ll be honest this doesn’t do much for my concentration and mental wellbeing.

The chatter about Google’s decision to shutter Nest thermostats in Europe reminds me of Frank Duffy’s sheering layers concept. Google is forcing a change to a layer at a faster than expected rate.
Shearing layers of change. Because of the different rates of change of its components a building is always tearing itself apart.

The Brompton is so thoughtfully designed, my favourite example: the mud guard catches the water and muck from the wheel while it’s folded, protecting the floor.

All if this. And for those non-diabetics who use continuous glucose monitors to see which foods ‘spike their Blood Glucose’. What you think is a spike isn’t a spike, this is a spike…

If you're interested in how to think about digital transformation, 'The Brompton - Engineering for Change.' is one of the best books I've read on the subject. This might seem odd, given that software is hardly mentioned in the book, but I suspect that's why. www.brompton.com/p/795/the-br...
Photo of a book - the cover has the words 'The Brompton' running vertically down the left side (white text on red); the right shows three illustrations of a brompton in different stages of fold. Below the illustrations is the subtitle 'Engineering for Change' and below that the names of the two authors: 'Will Butler-Adams and Dan Davies'.

Anyway it appears that once upon a time this particular Ait was known as ‘The Ravens Arse’. At least that’s what the cartographer labelled it on this map. 3/3
Section of an old map. The centre of the map is the River Thames, in the Thames is an island labelled ’The Ravens Arse’ (the s is a long s sometimes known as a long f).

Hang on… are the things we call sausage rolls in the UK known as pigs in blanket in the US? If so is a sausage wrapped in bacon a thing in the US?

When you wake up, check your blood glucose and correct a high and rapidly rising BG only to find it was a sensor error and your BG is crashing 😬 #t1d
Graph of my blood glucose shows a reading of 9.1 mmol/L and rising rapidly. Below a graph with green dots (readings) scattered around the trend line. One dot is an outlier 3mmol/L about the graph.

Stupid endocrine system. Look what happened when I woke up this morning (no food). #t1d
Graph showing my blood glucose. The units are in mmol/L; the x axis starts at 5am and end ends at 10am; the y-axis 5.5-24. In large red numbers at the top of the image the reading is 20.7 horizontal arrow (recent blood glucose reading and trend line) the graph starts in the green (6mmol/L) and rises rapidly from 7am peaking at 21mmol/L at 9am.
