Happy birthday. I share my birthday with the Munich Air crash and as a 7 yr old waking up to the news I cried and for a short time switched my allegiance from L'pool to Utd in sympathy. Thankfully it only lasted a few months so I experienced the rise and domination of the Reds in the 60s,70s,and 80s

On Suella's reasoning I'm Irish! But as I am white she wouldn't refute my "Englishness". She confuses me. My Great grandparents came from Ireland and my grand parents were born here as were my parents. So if I am English when did the crossover from Irish to English occur?

My great grandparents came from Ireland fleeing the famine. Am I English? Were my parents? Grandparents? When did our family cross over from Irish to English. Probably not important as I am white.

A few years ago I attended mass in Tours, France. The church had a huge organ which was played magnificently in the service. After the mass I chatted to the Priest with my basic French and made the mistake of admiring his huge organ. He beckoned me to follow him into the vestry.

It already took about 4 mins. Would be another 3 or 4 if the Ref had to view it on a small monitor several times. It was defo offside though and VAR should have sorted it within 30 secs.

Ive never known a ref over rule VAR. They might be asked to look at a monitor to check their decision but when VAR. says it is a goal the ref will go along with it. I can't recall a situation where VAR say it is a goal and the Ref says I want to check it for myself. It was obv a wrong decision!

As my medication increases with age and I become a bit more forgetful, I invested in a tablet box labelled Mon, Tue,Wed. etc horizontally and Morn, Lunch, Evening and Night Vertically. All well except I now have to consult my phone to check what day it is!

A great day for 14 yr old me. I remember Cup Final Grandstand. Tarbuck with a Red rosette and Frankie Vaughan with a white one despite being a scouser. Apparently he was married to a Leeds girl and had switched allegiance. And Gerry Byrne playing nearly the whole game with a broken collar bone!

I am a bit odd in the way I love maths. I also got a 1 at GCE in 1968. I did A level maths at night school for fun when I was in my 40s. A few years ago before flying to Australia from Newcastle my wife bought a few books to read on the plane. I bought an A level maths text book to keep me amused.
