I saw people on twitter say the original Super Mario Bros. is "ass" when the controls of that game still feel incredibly tight and someone say the original Dead Space was "outdated" which is why we need remakes.

And I'm not talking about obvious shovelware that was bad when it came out or whatever, I'm talking about the people that act like any Resident Evil prior to RE4 (or, worse, prior to the modern remakes) is "unplayable" or say Super Mario 64 has "shit controls" when they're just bad at the game.

Opening scene where they're chased by the truck? Genuinely good. It's scary, it's intense. Goes completely downhill after that. It baffles me how passionate a fanbase it has. I'm guessing a lot of them saw it when they were like eight.

Jeepers Creepers might be the most overrated horror movie ever. People are so mad that Dead Meat refuses to cover it until Victor Salva is dead but even putting aside Salva being a POS I've never understood what people love about it.

I will say that SHf is easily the HARDEST Silent Hill game but it's not impossible. But I would advise doing what I did by saving Lost in the Fog difficulty for the true ending run because that final boss did make me want to die.

You have to approach combat carefully, wait for enemy openings, and strike when the opportunity arises. You need to make use of focusing. It's challenging but not impossible.

I think the best way to adapt RE1 into a movie would by making a prequel set long before the events of RE1. Set in the Spencer Mansion before the outbreak occurs and showing how it leads up to it. Probably would work better as a series than a movie. Or maybe a Lisa Trevor origin story.

"Why don't they just directly adapt RE1 into a movie?" Look, I've thought about it, and I really don't think it works. RE1 (REmake) is like my favorite game of all time but the medium of a game is different from that of a movie. Most of RE1's story is uncovered through files you find alone.

I think one of the dumbest criticisms I've seen thrown at Resident Evil is "the virus wouldn't do that". We're talking about a series where the same virus resulted in all these, mind you. That last one is a man made of leeches.

Resident Evil was great and, yeah, it gave the feeling of Resident Evil. It's sad we got the best Resident Evil movie adaptation ever and will probably never get another one because the fanbase kept screeching about there being snow.

If you stretched it far enough you could say the same thing about RE7 and RE8 (which I know people do) but you could also make the argument that you wouldn't know RE4 were RE if it weren't starring Leon if they want to play that game.

The Resident Evil criticism of "It's Resident Evil in name only. If it didn't mention Raccoon City/T-Virus/was called Resident Evil you'd never know it was Resident Evil." reminds me of the people who think Silent Hill f is Silent Hill "in name only."

People poopooing Zach Cregger's Resident Evil because it's not a direct adaptation of a specific game is dumb. Not only have the reviews been great but I personally think making a movie about a guy that in a mainline game you'd just find a file about is genius.

I never quite got what anyone expected this to accomplish in the first place. Sony could not give less of a shit if you turn on the console and play the games you've already bought. You already bought it. They got the money from it. Stick it to Sony by cancelling PS+ and not buying PS6.
