I know it actually has impacted everyone but it doesn’t feel like it’s been massively detrimental to us because the time in which they’ve dominated has been largely enjoyable for me, with a few little miserable detours here & there as per usual. If it wasn’t them it would be someone else.

The only reason I'm still invested in the absurdly indulgent & unsustainable enterprise that is the Premier League at large is because Leeds Utd are there at the moment & also, it's been truly wonderful watching Scum become a self-perpetuating delivery mechanism of pure misery for their own fans.

Although Man City dominated the PL over the past decade, they did so largely playing good football & every time they lifted a trophy at the back of my mind was 'well, at least it's not Scum'. I am completely aware this is by the by but given that it hasn't impacted Leeds much, I'm struggling a bit.

A real dilemma amongst many if not most football fans right now is how much to be outraged about the Man City's flagrant rule breaking & how much to admit that it's also been quietly brilliant to see how much their success upset Stretford Reds. On some level it would be a shame to see the end of it.

Not the first time you've had to report that I'll wager.

Impossible to make a convincing & coherent argument that Stretford Reds didn't know about it. Guilty by association.

Regarding the ongoing Man City scandal, the only suitable outcome is to relegate all clubs in Manchester from the Football League. No exceptions, anyone in the area is guilty by proximity. There's absolutely no way they were close to it happening for that long & knew nowt about it. Scorched earth.

Getting to read these stories with some interesting behind the scenes content without the impenetrable layers of adverts & paywalls is a real bonus. Plus I really appreciate that they're also being posted here on Blue Sky even if the club itself hasn't formally returned (yet?). #lufc

If there is even the smallest percentile of opportunists who might use this unhappy situation to perpetuate antisemitism, you can absolutely miss me with that shit too. Jewish people & Jewish culture has contributed so much to my life & I stand in solidarity with them against all racism & fascism.

Fascists always posture that they hold a majority opinion but it never is, the overwhelming majority of Jews worldwide are disgusted by the actions of Netanyahu & co for the most obvious of reasons that Jewish people would be anti-fascist: because of the monumental & lasting trauma of the holocaust.

For the avoidance of doubt, there are also very brave Israelis opposing the incumbent fascist government & most of what I know about organising to effectively oppose fascism I learned from planning & attending protests with the many thousands of Jewish people involved in progressive politics here.

I reckon I can forgive them for not taking the risk of shaking hands with someone who is an apologist for an ongoing genocide that disproportionately targets children. Given that context I think I too would give it a miss.

Your position now was theirs before, during & after the match. I wouldn’t want a photo of myself shaking hands with him out there either. If there ever is a reckoning, it would be a difficult one to explain.

I'd argue that agreeing to the fixture & playing the match is the extent of the respect they deserve.

Slighting Ireland of all countries is particularly heinous to me when you consider the enormous contribution of Ireland in terms of culture & how often it sets the standard for collective response to international events in the modern era.

Tommy @tommy-lufc.bsky.social · 28/09/2026
Yeah I was going to say this isn’t about him representing or even being proud of his country but the pointed stuff about their soldiers & Israel being ten times better than Ireland can all get in the bin.

Just want it on record that regardless of what he achieved in a Leeds shirt or his ability as a footballer, Manor Solomon is a dreadful prick & he can fuck off. #lufc

Periodic reminder that the flagrant Man City rule breaking only makes the fact that Marcelo Bielsa’s team beat them 1-2 away from home despite playing most of the game with 10 men even more staggering. #lufc www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/foo...

I’m not a young man. I’m old, tired and full of no coffee.

There will be easier games ahead too, just don’t pay too much attention to Fotmob. #lufc

On the plus side, despite having completely different personnel that central defensive setup of Tarik, Elvedi & Justin in front of Trafford - three of whom are new & one out of position - got a clean sheet & don’t look half bad. After just five games, Tarik & Trafford look worth every penny. #lufc

Defence showed a lot in fairness, particularly Tarik, James & Trafford. Far from a disaster performance, just met a team who were equal to our pressing & strong in the middle. Good point in the end. #lufc

Honestly quite content with that, Palace have a lot of good players & matched us across the park. Still unbeaten going into the break, important to remember that we’ve got some new players still bedding in & we weren’t disgraceful. Trafford & Tarik very good, flashes of Bahoya at the end. #lufc

Two disciplined sides & a relatively tight encounter so far. Can’t help but think that Nmecha could introduce an element of chaos to what has been quite an orderly affair. First goal is still absolutely crucial. #lufc

But for their keeper having a good game & Farke sending on his hobbits for a run out it could have been 8-0. #lufc

All keepers make mistakes, the difference appears to be that with Trafford it doesn’t seem to cost us, albeit not yet.

That’s a very convincing win, everybody good but Bogle probably my MOTM just ahead of Tarik & Justin. Honestly thought that the Barcodes were wretched today, shocked to see it’s their first loss of the season. Shame to concede late on but still unbeaten & up to 3rd, can’t complain. #lufc

Somewhat disrespectful of Daniel Farke to deliberately choose three subs that might set a record for shortest combined height in PL history. #lufc

Elvedi is arguably the person playing closest to an actual right-back, except that he also isn’t.
