On the opening day at Brentford we were the side two passes behind. At Old Trafford, for long spells, we were the side two passes ahead. It finished 1-1 with ten men, and the goals still aren't coming easily, but there was a lot to like.

My daughter's been correcting her piano book. Obviously we’ll need to have a word about her choice of pen colour, but otherwise an immensely proud dad moment.

There was so much good stuff tonight. We played so much better than them. Imagine Kane and Son at the end of some of that play. We are absolutely heading in the right direction. <hic>

That’s why I had no hope in the final…just utterly conditioned to reject the notion of Spurs beating Man Utd four times in a season, not least when the fourth is an actual cup final

Old Trafford used to be the away trip I dreaded most. We didn’t win there for twenty-three years but it's not what it was and after a long three weeks of international football I’m just glad Tottenham are playing again. stillthelane.co.uk/blog/old-tra...

Old Trafford used to feel different

Manchester City are reported to have been found in breach of Premier League rules on almost all of the charges about their finances, covering the years we were trying to become a regular Champions League club. There's no trophy to hand back to Spurs, but there is a table to look at again.

I've been wondering what the next couple of weeks at Hotspur Way look like, with most of the settled side away and De Zerbi left with the players he says need more work.

I mentioned to my friend pre-match that the 12:30 Saturday kick-off is never particularly kind to us, and he quite rightly pointed out we’re not really in a position to decide that one kick-off time is worse than another

Four games, no goals. But for about 20 minutes today Spurs actually looked like a proper football team. Bentancur excellent, Van Hecke better every week, and plenty clearly improving. We just need a goal. Somebody needs to bloody score one. PLEASE.

A team is appearing. We just need someone to score for it
For twenty minutes against Everton, all the small signs of progress arrived at once and Spurs looked like a team. The bit at the sharp end is still missing.

Dear Supporters Clubs. Next July it's going to be 60 years since I signed for Spurs. Here's every supporters club I've been lucky enough to speak at - from Mid Ulster to New Zealand. If I've missed yours, tell me and I'll add it. COYS. Steve P.
