I don't think tech at large understands how hard it is to be an open source maintainer right now. So many great folks are on the brink of burnout. Funding is drying out. We live in a security minefield. Companies think humans are disposable. If you're a maintainer, we care. You deserve the world.

I've followed the hype and tried Caveman. After a few hours, I'm convinced it's a bad idea. By reducing everything to caveman talk, context, nuance and details are lost. LLMs match the output to the input style, so hooga-booga in is hooga-booga out. We all want to save tokens, but this ain't it.

New intro screen of Neovim. On top - ASCII art from box drawing characters of a capital letter "N", left leg is cyan, the rest is green. Just below it - text "NVIM v0.12.0" in green.

The rest are the same sections as were in previous intro screen, but with muted grey horizontal separators between sections and extra highlighted commands (like `:help<Eenter>`).

I don’t know if the performance difference is so great, but imho axios make a lot of things easier too work with. Throwing automatic errors if status is abnormal etc, easier json handling and much more. Using fetch usually ends up in either creating a wrapper or using ky for instance.
