If Chels are bad I am sad

Think he would have more people on side if he’d done a lot more of this last season

Bournemouth are awesome as Bournemouth, but they’ve been kind of meh with the ball under Iraola

I’m seeing a lot of Glasner and Iraola in response to this and elsewhere. They’ve been great for the clubs they’re at, but I’m not seeing the in possession stuff to be convinced for Chelsea.

So apparently we didn’t take Guiu because he was cup tied, by the time we had finalised the squad, the EFL told us he could play lol

Nobody involved in the situation benefits from Tyrique playing centre forward. He’s wasting dev time there and he isn’t good enough there for Chelsea to benefit

Josh Acheampong hasn’t played a single minute of football since the first game of the season

It’s been laid bare to the decision makers today that this is the culture they’ve implemented at this club. Any of the top three are still in this game.

Higher ups should really be watching that game and self reflecting. Think Maresca set us up fine but some poor quality in areas where we’ve spent a lot of money has let us down. All the while we have the guy they cheaped out on the space required to be the best player on the pitch.

The people behind this ticket system can’t make a bowl of cereal

Tom @tomcfc.bsky.social · 13/09/2025
I know the situation likely required some rotation but there was like 5 players in that team that have barely played any football for us and have never played together. Would’ve gone with a Reece or a Cucurella from the start if you could have.

If Saka struggles with fitness this season I wouldn’t be surprised is Madueke becomes universally rated as a player. Has everything you want from a winger.

Tom @tomcfc.bsky.social · 12/09/2025
This ticket system is incredibly flawed. The loyalty points system is backwards and Ticketmaster has been a complete shitshow.

My only reaction to the news coming out of the US is straight up fear. The political climate in that country is at a really scary point.

There’s mass confusion about this UEFA squad thing. I read that Athletic article as we didn’t meet the quotas from the settlement to register Facundo. And if that’s true, it would explain why we went from Simon’s to Facundo.

Have you not read the premier league rules?

What are spurs doing?! You can’t have three strikers
120
Tom @tomcfc.bsky.social · 01/09/2025
It’s just so easily fixed, Jackson wants to leave now but if you reintegrate him with his teammates it’ll be fine in a couple weeks.
120
Tom @tomcfc.bsky.social · 01/09/2025
They’re just so obsessed with not looking like they’ve made a mistake. Despite them creating the issue themselves, recalling Guiu and cancelling Jackson’s move was proactive but for him to go to Bayern anyway because you don’t wanna reintegrate him is just self-obsession.

Tom @tomcfc.bsky.social · 01/09/2025
Chelsea didn’t need Simons and they don’t need Fermin Lopez. I like Lopez but if Jackson has to go for that deal to happen, that’s your own fault for not sorting out outgoings earlier and for some reason getting Buonanotte on a dry loan.

Tom @tomcfc.bsky.social · 01/09/2025
These guys really are allergic to just being sensible. We needed another striker before Delap got injured and the solution to that is going to be Marc Guiu whilst they likely try and get deals for two MORE attacking midfielders.

The age old full proof tactic of literally going awol continues to get players exactly what they want
010
Tom @tomcfc.bsky.social · 31/08/2025
another situation where chelsea are doing good proactive things in isolation, but they solve problems they’ve created themselves. I was always a big advocate for having all three strikers in the squad for load reasons. Delap pulling up in GW3 doesn’t prove me right, but something was bound to happen

Tom @tomcfc.bsky.social · 31/08/2025
The Marc Guiu loan was a bad move from the jump so it’s quite funny that they’re already recalling him

Don’t see what with Nico?

Tom @tomcfc.bsky.social · 31/08/2025
I have the upmost admiration for Trevoh’s patience. He didn’t take the nonsense and has proved so many people wrong. I hope Nico locks in and does the same. This team is a lot better with him as a striker option.

Tom @tomcfc.bsky.social · 31/08/2025
Yeah I think Eze out there from the jump would’ve helped, even bringing him on earlier.

Tom @tomcfc.bsky.social · 31/08/2025
Two consistencies in their title pushes has been that they’ve never won at Anfield or the Etihad and they draw a lot of games. Saying they’re too conservative in games like this isn’t a non-starter.

There’s a lot of lazy analysis around how Arsenal approach games and a lot of people that defend Arteta’s ideas. But I just feel at some point there has to be some level of expectation? Yes you have injuries but Liverpool have looked very flawed in their opening matches and weren’t unbeatable today.

The good version of this story is they're learning and being disciplined around fees and wages (I think Huijsen just said no and that's embarrassing). The two counterpoints is this only seems to happen with the "other" players and not the Brighton/City lot.

But yes It’s also good that they’re sticking to valuations bsky.app/profile/bass...

I don’t care for Simons much but once again Chelsea played their hand publicly in the media for weeks and now a lot of the fanbase who naively got caught up in all of it are now angry. I’m still not seeing the benefit of them moving so publicly with the vast majority or their deals.

I find how fans get attached to players fascinating. People are up in arms because we signed a 21yo winger who has great underlying numbers and 5k minutes in the PL. But then having Olise level crash outs because we’ve allowed a guy who’s not T10 in the Bundesliga in anything to go to Spurs.

I’m braced for the meltdown if the fifth best AM/Winger in the Bundesliga last season goes to Spurs instead of us

Newcastle seeing the downside to playing to the emotion of the game

Are United really determined to see the ceiling of Amorim’s system? It needs a collection of very specific players and isn’t even proven to be that dominant over multiple years. They also can’t create anything but are not taking 100m for a 30yo Bruno.

Multi club models are so nasty man imagine seeing this as a Strasbourg fan knowing if he’s bad you’re stuck with him and if he’s good he’s someone else’s

We’ve seen a game and a half of Estevao and I can confidently say that he’s by far our best winger already. That’s not me putting pressure on him, his impact on the game is pretty clear.

I find some of the commentary on what Chelsea’s problems are quite boring atm. Constant chat about ‘needing’ a centre back or our seasons over. We’re 12th in the league for goals scored in 2025 and second for goals conceded. We need more variety in attack and Estevao needs to start.

Wesley Fofana is too old to be doing petty stuff on Instagram as much as he is

How many times do we need to see something like this unfold before a player actually installs some tangible leverage into the situation instead of assuming their contracted employers will keep some pinky promise?
010
Tom @tomcfc.bsky.social · 19/08/2025
Maybe does kinda feel like Garnacho was always a late window move because of the leverage
100
Tom @tomcfc.bsky.social · 19/08/2025
I think he gets goal contributions more frequently than Sancho, Neto and Madueke throughout his career, loads of minutes in the PL at 21, the optics are a lot better than people are making out. Attitude is a genuine concern but apparently they’ve done background checks.

I don’t think they handled Noni well at all but at least they kept him around and maybe that made the fee for him what it was
110
Tom @tomcfc.bsky.social · 19/08/2025
I was always in the camp of keeping him even if you had the other two. He’s been a very reliable source of goals for two seasons now - whether he’s frustrating or not.

Tom @tomcfc.bsky.social · 19/08/2025
He’s definitely an upgrade on Gittens right now. I think 30-40m for him is a wonderful price. If he plays Sunday I think there’s a chance we win because he would’ve brought a lot of movement in a game where we were really static.
100
Tom @tomcfc.bsky.social · 19/08/2025
Having Jackson or Garnacho/Simons may well have got us three points on Sunday. You have to start remembering that dragging these deals out for the most money is costing the team points and momentum early.

Tom @tomcfc.bsky.social · 19/08/2025
It’s today where I’ve really started to come to terms with Nkunku and Jackson probably being loaned
120
Tom @tomcfc.bsky.social · 19/08/2025
He can change build up structure, use a flat back four (he did away at Palace last season). The team would also benefit from Garnacho who will actually give us some movement in games like Sunday.

Tom @tomcfc.bsky.social · 19/08/2025
Nick makes all good points here. Do think coaches are always going to ask for players because of pressure to meet targets and lack of training time. But Chelsea would benefit massively long term from getting Josh more minutes and asking Maresca to be adaptable.
