It's that time of year again. 🎃

A panel from the Decap Attack strip that appeared in Sonic the Comic. The "camera" is looking up at an open attic door. The attic appears to be filled with (undetailed) pumpkins, and five pumpkins with carved faces are falling out of the door.
Below them, on a ladder, is the professor. He's dressed as a stereotypical mad scientist in a lab coat and glasses. His long kinked green hair and (equally long and green) moustache are pointing straight out in surprise. His arms are raised in the air as e shouts "ACHHH! DER PUMPELKINS!"

OK, this one got my feels. "Above all, do not lament my absence. For in my spark I know that this is not the end but merely a new beginning. Simply put, another transformation."

It seems the reaper is determined that everyone takes a kick in the childhood this week. If the previous entertainers' deaths hadn't already done that for you, (the voice of) Eeyore dying certainly will. 😯😢

Why is it that the day that we gain the ability to hide reposts is the same day that a lot of people I follow - who aren't normally particularly prone to reposting - suddenly start mass-reposting? WHY DO YOU TEMPT ME TO PRESS THE SHINY NEW BUTTON?

It's the other 60s franchise that I have a lot of love for! A happy 60th anniversary to the original tokusatsu hero, Ultraman. May you forever keep spawning new and sometimes-difficult-to-tell-apart successors. 😄

The head and shoulders of the original Ultraman.

There's fun to be had with this one.

A still from the second Doctor's title sequence in Doctor Who, with the episode title text replaced to say "watch carefully because this one's going missing".

A black screen with the words "break a fan base with just four words - written by Chris Chibnall" written in the text used by the episode title cards of the Doctor Who episodes in the 13th Doctor's era.

Farewell Kanji Ohba. One of those actors who built a career out of sheer on-screen charisma, and his previous years as a stunt performer made him a natural action star. For me, at least, he even managed to stand out in his tiny role in Kill Bill.

I just heard that Rob Grant, comedy writer and co-creator of Red Dwarf, has passed away. The first six series of the TV series were practically the only British science fiction on the telly when I was young, and massively influenced my view of both sci-fi and comedy. Today, Mr Flibble is very sad.

An image of Rob Grant's head and shoulders as looks slightly to the left of camera. Behind him over his right shoulder you can see an background image of the titular spaceship from Red Dwarf

The final episode of Number One Sentai Gozyuger was broadcast in Japan this morning. After 2461 episodes (I think?) across 50 years, Super Sentai has gone off the air for the final time. ✌️😢

An image consisting of every red ranger from Super Sentai's fifty year history, in a line across the middle of the screen, running away from the camera across an empty wasteland towards a cloudless blue sky. Some of them are jumping and waving their hands as if in celebration.

My favourite Doctor and companion.

Two characters from the 60s TV series The Avengers. On the left is John Steed, played by Patrick Macnee. He is wearing a grey suit and bowler hat and carries a closed umbrella in his right hand. On the right is Tara Reed, played by Linda Thorson. She is wearing widely flared purple trousers, a pink top with semi-transparent sleeves, and numerous long silver necklaces. Two extremely thick chains (as might be used on ships) pass either side of them just above the ground. Tara stands wide-legged on the chains with Steed behind her. His left hand is on her waist to steady her.

Here's how you remove Google AI from your mobile devices.

amongussexgif

...

Instead of being in settings its in the google app. Also, google, not chrome. Icon is a G, not the circle thing. Click on your pfp to open a menu

From there, go Settings > Gemini > Digital Assistants > Switch to Google Assistant. This disables Gemini, google's Al assistant, and switches you back to the old one. We aren't done yet.

Go back to Settings. From there, we go Settings > Google Assistant > scroll to find General > Google Assitant on/off > turn it off

They really tried their best to make it a pain, but you can eventually disable it. Holding the power button on your phone still pulls up a menu and asks you to turn it back on, but this is the least intrusive you can make it.

Applies to all non-apple phones afaik. For sure Samsungs and Pixels but idrk about others

Edit: thank you my friend @/teeth-kid for confirming that this also works on Motorola

A screenshot from the fifth episode of the fourth season of Thunderbolt Fantasy. A puppet with long red hair is holding an instrument with a stylized face on it's headstock. A subtitle line is showing at the bottom of the screen which reads "What is Smokey the Magic Bastard doing down here?"
