Having ignored The Smiths and Adam and the Ants in high school, I'm now in my fifties and deep-diving into their later work. Morrissey's "California Son" is a brilliant album of unexpected covers; Adam's "Blueblack Hussar" is deliciously demented. Robyn Hitchcock is still on top of his game as well.

After Dahlia showed up at our house a month ago and immediately moved in, we weren't sure whether she was pregnant or just gaining weight. Apparently it was the former, as we now have three tiny black kittens.

Christie and I finally got a whole day to ourselves. We took notes about the best pollinator attractors at Descanso Gardens, had lunch and coffee there, bought a few plants, hit Vroman's Bookstore (mandatory in Pasadena), and had a light dinner at Urth Caffe on Colorado Boulevard.

Last year we planted a moringa that soon disappeared. We figured it was a gopher casualty. So, we planted a white mulberry in that same spot and it's been doing very well. That wispy little thing towards the bottom right... is the moringa coming back. 🙄 Should we try to transplant it? #gardenSky
