I've had We Lived on the Horizon on the shelf for a long time and I'm finally reading it this week, and it's such a fantastic kind of wonderful integral weird. It's right next to me at this moment.

My daughter is in Germany and we've been texting about when my nana took a trip to Germany as a music student studying in France in 1936. I sent this closing of a letter she sent her parents.

My middle kid just got a job as one of the assistant house techs for my university's new concert hall and recording studio. The studio is amazing, and here's what the hall looks like. I'm really proud of that kid:

Last week my kid was driving this van when he was hit by a driver who fled. My son is fine, and they caught the driver, who is in jail for 10,000 things. Tonight we said goodbye to the van we bought to fit our growing family.

My kid is officially a rock star. Last night he and his band played to a crowd of 1500+ in another town at another university, and they tore it up. What a parent gets to see is this lead guitar playing man and the tiny baby he once was in the same glance.
