Paid for a usb stick with a file that I want but it's such a cheap mass-produced lowest-cost stick that it falls over and unmounts if you read it at full speed. Currently using rsync with a bandwidth limit to pull the data off it with --append-verify so that if it does unmount again I can resume.

I think it’s only natural that when you have a kid you start to look at the world and the challenges the kid will face and want to make their life easier, but it should be an enhancement of what you already believe rather than a change.

I hate anyone who designs a tap or shower without labelling the controls. As well as people who design children’s books with poorly contrasting text - parents read them in poorly lit conditions as children are falling asleep.

I still like it because it is true social media - everyone knows everyone else and over the years some users got married, I was even the best man at one user’s wedding.
