Not sure if even remotely suitable, but have you considered something like the civil service? They are normally fairly flexible on things like part time and working from home and some of the jobs are essentially emails and meetings. Appreciate it might be nothing like what you wanted

There’s really only one way to mark the 99th anniversary of Roger Moore’s birth
Marc Haynes’ story: As a 7 year old in about 1983, … I was with my grandad in Nice Airport and saw Roger Moore Sitting at the departure gate, ... told my granddad i'd just seen James Bond and asked if we could go over so I could get his autograph. …so we walked over and he popped me in front of Roger Moore, with the words "my grandson says you're famous. Can you sign this?" As charming as you'd expect, Roger asks my name and signs the back of my plane ticket... I'm ecstatic, but …I glance down at the signature. … it definitely doesn't say 'James Bond'. ...I tell my grandad he's signed it wrong, … so my grandad heads back to Roger Moore...
"he says you've signed the wrong name. He says your name is James Bond." Roger Moore's face crinkled up with realisation and he beckoned me over. …he leant over, looked from side to side, raised an eyebrow and in a hushed voice said "I have to sign my name as 'Roger Moore because otherwise...Blofeld might find out I was here." He asked me not to tell anyone …and thanked me for keeping his secret. I went back to our seats, my nerves absolutely jangling with delight. My grandad asked me if he'd signed 'James Bond.' No, I said.
I'd got it wrong. I was working with James Bond now. Many years later, I was working on a recording that involved UNICEF, and Roger Moore was doing a piece to camera as an ambassador. He was lovely and while the cameramen were setting up, I told him the story. He …had a chuckle and said "Well, I don't remember but I'm glad you got to meet James Bond." So that was lovely. And then he did something so brilliant. After the filming, he walked past me in the corridor, heading out to his car - but as he got level, he paused looked both ways, raised an eyebrow and in a hushed voice said, "Of course I remember our meeting in Nice. But I didn't say anything in there, because those cameramen - any one of them could be working for Blofeld."
I was as delighted at 30 as I had been at 7. What a man. What a tremendous man.

Honestly I think someone may have tried to dissolve a body in acid and put it down the sink. I mean, I wouldn’t entirely put it past one or two of the people who I work with. The only thing worse I’ve ever smelled was a roadkill fox in the summer. Sorry that’s very gross at almost lunchtime

I currently have a cold and a severely reduced sense of smell, but the stink coming from the kitchen sink at work as the maintenance crew are fixing it is absolutely disgusting. I can’t imagine how gross it is for people who can smell things 🤢

I had a quick look and I don’t think the Essex stuff can be correct. It gives a score to East Cambridgeshire of 0.02 which would make it a socialist paradise where everyone has equal income

Toby Nutley @tobynutley.bsky.social · 08/10/2026
I’ve not looked at the data, but would expect London would have quite high income inequality, as even though average income is higher it’s really skewed, so a score closer to 1 is more unequal, whereas 0 is total equality

I think tonight was the moment I officially realised I am very old. I was trying to explain the KLF to someone aged 40 and they’d never heard of them. I then looked on Wikipedia and they split in 1992, making a 40 year old just 6 at the time. Anyway youtu.be/pC_zffOenk8?...

I don’t think I’m the only person who will appreciate this
Triangular diagram labelled The Introvert
Hierarchy of Needs.

Top: Self-actualisation - A completely empty house. An arrow pointing to the house says “Nobody needs anything. Nobody is coming home for hours. Phone on silent.”

The next level is Esteem - Plans getting cancelled. An arrow here says “‘Sorry, we're going to have to rearrange.’ Oh no. That's terrible. I'm devastated.”

Next level: Belonging - One person you actually like. No group chat. No networking. No "let's go round and introduce ourselves." Just one person you can talk absolute shit with.

Fourth level: Safety - An escape route. Own car. End seat. Knowing exactly when the event finishes. A believable reason to leave early.

Bottom of pyramid: Physiological needs - Being left the fuck alone for a bit. Food. Water. Sleep. 45 minutes where nobody speaks to you.

Unhelpfully I can’t remember the band name, but I can remember one of my team stood on a table, shouting the entire lyrics to the original backstreet boys song and doing the dance over an oompah version that sounded exactly like that, and I guess there’s not too many London bands who do that

Toby Nutley @tobynutley.bsky.social · 04/10/2026
I think that’s the same band who are often in the Munich Cricket Club. Did they do an oompah version of Seven Nation Army?
