I am in the middle of a fellowship in Paris, hosted by @gsrl.bsky.social , and will be presenting preliminary findings next week! I will be talking about Ionel Rotaru, a Romani politician and activist, and his transnational thinking about nationhood and Romani-Jewish histories.

That's a wrap on conference season! Very grateful for @biajs.bsky.social for the platform to talk all things Romani-Jewish histories, and for all who joined for an open dialogue on Postcolonial Studies and Jewish Studies, especially @bryan-cheyette.bsky.social and Laura Almagor as co-conspirators

Roma slavery and wider violence against Romani people are a part of the story of racial capitalism and the emergence of our contemporary world that is still so little discussed, let alone responded to justly. This book is a vital corrective.

I am incredibly grateful to @magdamatache.bsky.social for this rich and thoughtful book. Essential reading not only for those of us studying Romani histories, but anyone thinking about racialisation, justice and the future of Europe. So much to think with.
