This is insanity. Irish Presidency's draft text of amendments to the GDPR allows training & operation of any AI without safeguards & tough legal basis (under "legitimate interest" a company claims what it is doing is OK. Up to you to find out and challenge in court). This is a free pass for US Tech.

Applications for the Professional Certificate in Whistleblowing Law, Practice and Policy close on 31st August. Don't miss out on this opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills to confidently deal with protected disclosures. Apply today: tinyurl.com/5ert88vj For more information see mu.ie/law
Image with a teal textured background, Maynooth University logos at the top, and a white content panel in the centre. The white panel features a dark red paperclip icon and a whistleblowing icon of a yellow whistle and dark red exclamation point. The top of the panel states: “What our students say... Professional Certificate in Whistleblowing Law, Practice and Policy.” Four student testimonials are featured as follows: 1 “This is a really excellent course. Dr. Kierans is the expert in this area, and has a real mastery of this topic, which she relays excellently to course participants. This is a dynamic, important topic…and I would highly recommend this course. It is brilliantly and expertly delivered, and very practical in unpacking Whistleblower / Protected Disclosure law, practice and procedure”. 2 “...an intense but superb learning experience. Lauren Kierans is outstanding in her ability to deliver and promote understanding of the course material. I knew nothing about whistleblowing prior to the course, and 8 weeks later was able to ask questions reflecting the depth of learning I had achieved”. 3 “I thoroughly enjoyed the course. We are currently updating our external procedures and as a result of the training I am infinitely better positioned to contribute to this exercise. I have also redesigned our document storage method and have also redeveloped our PD tracker to align with the requirements of the annual report”. 4 “I enjoyed engaging with other public servants managing public disclosures. The assessment was very practical”.
At the bottom, text states: “Next course commencing: 30th September 2026. Application deadline: 31st August 2026 via MU Apply.”
