Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 3hThe setup was incredibly naive. Really need another midfielder in centrally to protect the back four. It's not like we don't have any. 050
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 3hPlaying with only one central midfielder in the premier league is insanely naive. I honestly have no idea what Jaissle was thinking with this suicidal setup #nufc 010
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 19/09/2026Goodness me, Sean Steur is an incredible player #nufc 030
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 17/09/2026Would hope so, and then Botman will be the only player on the bench who is over 21 🙂 010
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 17/09/2026So, on Saturday Fabian Schar is going to be the only player on the bench who is over 21. That is... wild #nufc 230
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 15/09/2026442 leaves us too light in midfield. Has happened in every PL match so far. Need to switch to 433 or play Ramsey at 10. Also press is not working at all. Front 4 passed too easily leaving huge gaps in midfield. 010
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 15/09/2026One issue is that our first line press is poor. Front four easily bypassed which leaves huge gaps for Nico and Miley to cover. Seeing as they are both pretty slow it becomes a huge problem. Need to go back to 433 and add some mobility and physicality in CM. 110
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 05/09/2026I think that Miley and Nico may be too similar to play together in this kind of game. The introduction of Ramsey as a more mobile CM helped. 000
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 05/09/2026The kind of game that makes you realise that there may be important roles for Joelinton and Burn this season after all #nufc 040
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 05/09/2026Too many similar players doing the same things in the starting line up for this kind of game in my opinion. Nico/Miley, Wissa/Willock, Barnes/Elanga. Introduction of Fernandez Pardo, Ramsey and Steur made us more diverse and dangerous #nufc 020
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 03/09/2026Whatever happened to all the talk of PIF building a multi-club setup a few months back? Really an opportunity that could potentially be extremely useful for us, with our new found focus on buying and developing raw talent. We could do with a Strasbourg #nufcfourfourtwo.comNewcastle United set for major ownership shift as PIF plot European expansion: reportNewcastle United's Saudi Arabian owners could be set to move into mainland Europe 210
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 03/09/2026Our attackers will get plenty of playing time due to the high intensity, but the central midfield area seems overloaded with 6 players for 2 spots. Would be a real shame if a player like Bamba, who is supposed to be a major talent, doesn't get many minutes. Luxury problem though. 110
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 03/09/2026Oddly enough we have probably never had as much strength in depth as we have now. Real competition for places everywhere apart from left back. Keeping everyone involved will be a challenge with no Europe #nufc 170
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 02/09/2026Jaissle is definitely much better suited to the new recruitment strategy 000
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 02/09/2026I think that Nico was very much someone Jaissle wanted. The change in system when he arrived made that profile of player essential. 110
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 02/09/2026It did feel as if we just stopped being active around the time when Eddie and Bruno left. And then people panicked. That turned out to be because Jaissle would be given the chance to put his mark on the squad. I think that they changed targets for several positions. Thank God for that. 110
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 02/09/2026You have to give massive credit to Ross Wilson. He has really carried the future of the club on his shoulders having to totally transform the squad and coaching department. A clear plan carried out without panicking, under very difficult circumstances. Impressive #nufc 2241
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 31/08/2026If ever there was a case of "judge us when the transfer window has closed" being right #nufc 150
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 26/08/2026Honestly, we could have one of the best midfields in world football in 2-3 years time. Nico - 24 Miley - 20 Bamba - 20 Steur - 18 So exciting #nufc 170
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 18/08/2026Last summer Ross Wilson brought in seven players at Forest in the final two weeks of the transfer window. Four the summer before that. Sooo..... #nufc 041
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 17/08/2026You may very well be right. As we know it is a really difficult position to find a top player for. 000
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 17/08/2026With the wingers we currently have and a more attacking full back coming in, we will put a million crosses into the box, so a really good poacher could make a big difference #nufc 000
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 17/08/2026Will people be surprised if we sign a new number 9 and no 10 or RW? To battle with Osula for the centre forward position with Wissa and Woltemade the options in the AM position. Just got a feeling it may happen #nufc 200
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 16/08/2026Apart from Dedic and an experienced CDM (Palhinha?) I think we will only get one more. A RW or an AM. Not many RWs available, but several exciting young AMs if we are willing to pay big money. 100
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 15/08/2026Wolte is not a 10 at all. Would much rather we play Ramsey there. But obviously we ideally buy one. 100
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 15/08/2026I am not against this at all. We cannot have a CM of 18/20 year olds. They will get crushed in the PL. He will help shield our defence which we badly need. Then on to a creative number ten or RW. 000
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 15/08/2026I'm okay with Palhinha, if he actually wants to come. Will help our shaky defence a lot. Have to get a creative attacking player as well though #nufc 130
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 15/08/2026We should have done this last summer. Would have been in a much better place. I actually love our new signings, but they cannot carry the team. Don't see who can right now. 100
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 15/08/2026Succession planning is one thing we absolutely have to be excellent at. Always have a plan in place, if something like this happens. Bournemouth, for instance, are excellent at that, which is why they over perform. Seems like we were totally unprepared for Brunos departure. 200
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 15/08/2026Problem is that the over optimistic vision means that we can only underperform. Terrible starting point. We are way better as a club and fanbase when we are underdogs. 010
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 15/08/2026Don't see it as random as such, but they expected Howe and Bruno to stay and built the squad around them. So now we have a really unbalanced squad. I think they have been very naive. 100
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 15/08/2026Fans would be so much more on board if they just said the vision was a Dortmund model and to constantly challenge the established elite by being first in class at talent development, data and innovative coaching/tactics. But owners want a different, yet unrealistic, narrative. 100
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 15/08/2026Absolutely agree. But I think it makes more sense to focus on our needs when building a new squad for Jaissle than on getting someone as close to Bruno for instance. Attacking FB, specialist DM and AM, inverted left winger are needed for that. 100
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 15/08/2026Too much talk of directly replacing specific players, I think. We are building a new team, under a new manager. Need to focus on the balances and qualities of the collective squad more. And that is obviously far from perfect now. 250
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 14/08/2026Sander Berge is the one I think we should go for. Not flashy but very underrated. #nufc 080
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 14/08/2026I'm concerned about going 4-2-3-1 if we don't sign a specialist number 10. Playing Wolte or Wissa at 10 makes us too weak and easy to control in midfield. Squad is hard wired for 4-3-3, so hard to change from that #nufc 120
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 05/08/2026Sooo, are we going to sign Palhinha, Danilo or Ederson? 😬 #nufc 000
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 23/07/2026Finally a specialist number six. We really seem to be building a balanced team for the future #nufc 000
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 20/07/2026Seen him play a lot for Denmark (my home country) as an attacking 8. Just had a major breakthrough season like Manzambi but gone under the radar a bit. Insane engine, absolute pressing machine who can score and create. Just so much a Howe type player. Better fit than Bergvall IMO. 110
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 20/07/2026Got this weird gut feeling about Victor Froholdt to #nufc 210
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 29/06/2026With so many box to box midfielders being linked - Manzambi, Nmecha, Camara - and no natural DMs, will Miley in fact be the one replacing Tonali in the number six position? #nufc 000
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 26/06/2026We seem to have contingency plans in place for if/when Tonali, so I'm not worried about that, but I very much doubt that we have a potential replacement for Bruno lined up, so that would put us back in the same way losing Isak did. Catastrophic short term. 000
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 19/06/2026Think we could ideally do something like this #nufc Pope > Trafford Ramsdale > Jouen Trippier > Doue Krafth > Seys Tonali > Stiller Willock > Camara Gordon > El Mala Murphy > Khalaili 100
Toastieman @toastieman.bsky.social · 16/06/2026So, we could see Tonali and Willock leave with the likes of Camara and Stankovic coming in and Miley stepping up. I don't hate that #nufc 020
