In an update I didn't quite see coming but really should have, it is now possible to pick up a PS3 for less than the cost of a PS2. When I was building my PS2 LAN, I was able to get slim PS2s for £25-£30 a pop. What the hell happened?

A photo of CEX pricings, where a Phat PS2 is £110, whereas a slim PS3 is £10 cheaper at £100.

While sorting out things after my dad passed away a few days ago, I managed to get a nice photo of Southampton's Tudor House. A building constructed in 1491, making it more than twice as old as the USA. It's not even the oldest thing in the city, madly enough. #LocalHistory

Seconding this. Almost all of the PS5 games I have actually purchased have been physical (not counting the "free" games I've gotten from my years of PS+ membership) and having just found out about this game, I'd love to add it to my physical library.

Don't ban, teach parents how to use Parental Controls on their kids' devices. Teach parents how to use the content filtering tools on their router. Teach parents how to coach their children in online safety. Basically, teach parents how to parent. Far more effective than bans will ever be.

To everyone who voted this government in, I have to just say thanks. Thank you for making the Internet a much more dangerous place for LGBT+ people of all ages if they want to use social media in the UK. Enjoy getting your ID info off the dark web once the breaches begin. I hope it was worth it.

I'm still not sold on SoFurry's redesign. It seems that everything is just harder to do now. That, and the transition from SF2 to SFX has murdered all the formatting in my stories, which means I'm basically going to have to re-upload (via edits) everything, and I really don't have time for that.

We have truly entered the bad future when a PS2 costs almost as much as a PS4...

A PlayStation 4 priced at £130 sits next to a PlayStation 2 which is priced at £110. Both are sat on a shelf behind the counter at CEX.

Happy New Year everyone. Rumours of my death have been vastly exaggerated, but I do know I've not been around much. Hoping to improve this for 2026, but going by previous years, I make no promises. 😆

Got the original edition on Steam when it came out, and will be getting the Special Edition on PS5 as soon as I can. Already got my copy of Brawl Bar on PS5 and am looking forward to streaming it.

... And we plan to stream The Brawl Bar when it arrives on consoles as our current setup makes streaming Steam games exceptionally difficult (requiring some re-wiring of things as a lot of our setup is done in hardware, not software). Did buy The Brawl Bar on Day 1 (Steam), and will on console too.

I Quad-dipped on Brok when it originally came out (PC digital + physical, PlayStation 4/5 Digital + PS5 Physical), and was chuffed when Daisy Guevara tuned into our stream of it on TigerTails Gaming...

Fucking called it. www.railwaygazette.com/uk/governmen... Massive underinvestment crippled British Railways. Now the government is promising to repeat the mistakes of the past before they've got GBR up and running. Hope the "Nationalise the railways" lot are happy - they've ruined it for everyone.

A great soundtrack, and a great cartoon too. Sadly, they never released the OST physically in the UK, so I had to settle for the (actually far better) Spanish versions. Same with Dogtanian. Sadly don't know if they make a Sandokan OST, but I'd want too that if they did.

Vinyl collection, featuring LPs of Postman Pat, La Vuelta Al Mundo De Willy Fog, and D'Artacan y Los Tres Mosqueperros. Also 2 singles of the opening theme to D'Artacan y Los Tres Mosqueperros, and Dogtanian and the Three Muskehounds.

I'm enjoying the irony that the artical mentions the IARP's finding of "too much drama/conflict within the fandom", while causing a ton of drama within the fandom. If anything, it highlights the sad fact that "Don't be a dick" actually needs to be a policy, and not just an expected behaviour.

So currently off work with illness, so have decided to mess about with some emulation now I have a powerful enough machine to run games with decent upscaling. All I can think of now is "when are we going to get an HD Bloody Roar game, as Primal Fury looks rather good at higher resolutions?".

Welcome to the vinyl appreciation club. I spent some of today hooking up my second turntable, with a third waiting for installation. The latter 2 were father's and I have to see how well they work before I decide to keep or sell them. I want to keep the one I hooked up, but it needs some repairs.

After getting some lieu time at work, I have been able to get more chores done than I had planned, which afforded me the chance to try to make sausage rolls. I am notoriously bad with anything pastry related, but despite not looking great, they tasted okay.

Two home made sausage rolls on a plate. One has been cut in half to show off the filling.

Thanks to the magic of eBay and long shipping times (though it still arrived early) a copy of Kaiketsu Zorori: Mezase! Itazura King arrived the other day. I have a Japanese PS2 (I got it for DDR) so I had a good time trying to play it. Not sure the Google Translated text is quite correct, though.

Thoughts that may or may not keep me up at night...

A cartoon with an otter in bed, lost in thought. A thought bubble above his head reads "What if the meatballs at Ikea are made from customers that never found the exit?". He looks quite distressed at this thought. The comic is made by In Otter News.

Alas I'm not going to be able to get the new game at launch, so all the time trials in Astro's Playroom are going to be what I tackle next. Still need to get the trophy for doing them in less than 7 mins, but as that was a DLC trophy it didn't count towards the Platinum.

TK Tiger @tktiger.bsky.social · 05/09/2024

Got the Platinum Trophy in Astro's Playroom on PS5 - 45 mins before the launch of the sequel, Astro Bot, happens in the UK. Now in the Secret Labo area to see what happens when the countdown clock hits zero and the game launches. Then to try to beat all @slycat.uk's time trials. 🤣

Went out and about today with the boyf to see @majorward.bsky.social and his wife, and to enjoy a nice pub lunch. There's little better than enjoying time with friends and seeing the boyf again. A lovely time was had by all. Need to do it more often, budget allowing.
