Generative AI has not been used in ANY point of the process of making the DK64 recomp. We have not generated a single line of code with AI, and we're not even referencing it to solve a difficult problem. All code has been human made, backed with years of working with DK64 and referencing RT64 devs.

This fix took us about 3.5 weeks to find and is the kinda stuff which resulted in us not wanting to give a specific release date for the recomp. We didn't want to over-promise, run into a race condition like this with some deep buried nonsense, and then run past the date Summer 2026

Status update: I might have figured out the reason for crashing files on Switch 2 Edition. At least in my case, removing the art "Flee" from Riki has caused the game to stop crashing. I assume this applies to all battle commands obtained from Arts Inheritance on Switch 2 Edition.

I heard Arts Inheritance works if you eject the Switch 2 Upgrade virtual game card. Decided to try myself and can confirm this works. It also makes it so any crashing files no longer crash from what I could tell.

Input lag is unbearable, the audio still sounds like crap, and there is still basically no lag like Wii U VC already had. I've had some framerate issues in places they shouldn't exist and it just doesn't feel like DK64. Do yourself a favor and play a better version (N64)
