Cazador also says "Seven thousand souls, each bearing the scar of the one who brought them to me, stand ready to be sacrificed." which implies the scars were needed in order to connect the spawn with their victims, so they would need to have the scars before catching anyone.

I'm very curious what his actual involvement was because it's only been described very vaguely as "consulted". Like did he see the actual manuscript or just a summary? Did he offer notes? Were those notes incorporated? Very mysterious... I can't imagine he was very heavily involved LOL
