Ok, I think I'm ready to go hardcore Belgian mode. my next project is going to be Flemish lace, not the torchon I've been doing so far. It's going to use finer threads + pins and more bobbins. The piece I'm making, smaller than a credit card, needs 118 bobbins... I have a lot of winding to do!

116 wooden lace bobbins, mostly danish and some square continental, in crocheted strips that keep them organized. there's also a pincushion, a plastic box that hold pins, some thread, the printed technical drawing.

i did this with iron on adhesive on purpose so i can easily remove and redo it, and now that i've confirmed this method works i think im going to redo it 👀 better pre marking of the numbers so i can stitch them more cleanly, pre marking a straight edge for the blanket stitch edge etc

update: my needle book now has a labeled page for pricker pins!!! i did a quick lil embroider and sew :)

an open needle book, which is a fabric booklet with felt pages, showing a page that has a wonky lil embroidered red rectangle. the embroidery says "0.45, 50, 53, 60". There's two headless pins inserted into the felt pages below the label, under 53 and 60.

if you currently wear crappy thin basic ankle socks or no show socks that you're constantly replacing, is2g stop that and try the vans. not the canoodles, the 'classic no show.' they have good, thick fabric, silicone pads to keep them up that actually work (last a decade!), and they're truly no-show

I've had the same pairs of socks since 2016 and i'm not kidding. I HIGHLY recommend this. I had 6 pairs of vans classic no show socks, added another 3 pairs a few years later, then a set (3p) of nike cushioned quarter socks for boots. Thats IT. I don't have or wear any other socks and it's SO NICE
