Two matches so far and two wins! We made heavy weather of chasing down Newton Poppleford's 118 on Sunday. Sam Thayre's 4 wickets earned him the player of the match award. Yesterday we defended a modest 81 from 15 overs in the gloom against the @metoffice.bsky.social cricket club

Really pleased to have been commended here for my collection 'Kindling' featuring drawings by my late Mum which capture the mood and character of #Dartmoor. Thank you @hedgehogpress.co.uk for encouraging a submission which features her skill with pen and ink. #PoetryCommunity #BlueSkyPoets

Flooding devastates lives and communities, and needs a long-term solution. My colleague @libdemcam.bsky.social and the Environmental Audit Committee have launched an inquiry into Flood Resilience, with a public call for evidence open until 13th January. committees.parliament.uk/call-for-evi...

Looking back, I'm pleased with my year in poetry, with several published at wildfire-words.com; there are a couple here, published in September: wildfire-words.com/os6-june-aug.... Son et Lumiere was inspired by a rare appearance of the northern lights in Devon

When I wrote to the Government about Tipton St John primary, I hoped they would see the necessity of rebuilding the school in the village and outside of the flood zone. I will keep pushing to enable local children to carry on attending school in their own village.
A letter from Richard Foord MP dated 18th November 2024 asking that funding be made available to rebuild Tipton St John primary school within the village, but outside of the flood zone.A letter from Catherine McKinnell MP, Minister for School Standards, to Richard Foord MP stating that the Government will work with the school, governors, and Exeter Diocese to identify and secure a suitable site for relocation, along with Devon County Council.
