I think a lot of us grew up thinking that "good vs. evil" was something that only existed in cartoons, fairy tales, and galaxies far far away. Those super villains pale in comparison to what is happening now though, and we don't get to play pretend anymore.

I never used Amino much, but they DID hire me to make an entire series of animated shorts, which was probably both the coolest & weirdest job I’ve ever taken. I keep wanting to revisit the story I made for them, cuz I actually wound up having a lot of fun!

It’s been two days, and I’m still at a loss for words. I spent the last six months stressing over where I’d find the money to keep paying our team of artists, and I don’t know if its fully hit me yet that I can let that stress go.

Photo of the corner of a room, with a large pink/purple/teal mural of the Sirenetta character on the right, and a 90s style wave pattern on the left. There are two shelves on the left wall with dolls of Jem, Mew Lettuce, Sailor Mercury, Ariel, Ariel’s friend Kayla, Sirenetta, and Harmonix Bloom. Beneath the shelves are a plush doll of Sirenetta and a metal print of a Sirenetta action figure illustration. Above the shelves is a piece of detailed Sirenetta fanart.

After 30 days, our Kickstarter campaign is almost at its end! I’m not sure I’ve ever felt this kind of support before - I know people have enjoyed Sirenetta over the years, but to have so many show up and help us keep telling her story is a totally different feeling. 🩵

Photo of a man sitting at a small yellow table, having coffee with a cartoon mermaid sitting on the other chair. He’s wearing blue jeans and a blue tank top under a yellow button up shirt, with some of his hair pulled back in a small ponytail. The mermaid has a blue wave pattern top with a yellow gold seashell on the right, has a blue fishtail, and long pink and green hair with some pulled up into a seashell shaped bun. The coffee cups they’re both using has a fishtail on them.
