Dave Mathieson @tinydbass.bsky.social · 05/10/2026For some reason my parents let me watch this and it sh*t me up for years 330
Dave Mathieson @tinydbass.bsky.social · 16/09/2026More of an observation than anything else, but these roadworks in #Salthill Galway really illustrate how much space *that isn't even needed* is allocated to cars. No temporary traffic lights, diversions, tailbacks. It looks like regular pipe-work, but I really hope they're widening the footpath... 130
Dave Mathieson @tinydbass.bsky.social · 16/09/2026I think people should start pronouncing bros like it rhymes with "toss" 020
Dave Mathieson @tinydbass.bsky.social · 31/08/2026Thing is, the pay off (of providing sufficient political cover to keep polluting) means that they can put a lot of time, effort and money into CCS 010
Dave Mathieson @tinydbass.bsky.social · 31/07/2026I'm sure everyone has seen this but putting it here for completeness 120
Dave Mathieson @tinydbass.bsky.social · 23/07/2026Yes, but have you had a good look at it recently? 010
Dave Mathieson @tinydbass.bsky.social · 29/06/2026Sorry, completely unrelated to your question, but one of my favourite pieces of dialog. 292

Dave Mathieson @tinydbass.bsky.social · 21/04/2026Nice change after slogging into the giant Atlantic hairdryer on my way home for the past few weeks. 140

Dave Mathieson @tinydbass.bsky.social · 03/03/2026I know I'm not paid the big bucks to fix traffic problems, but I'm sure this will be top of Darragh O'Brien's list of things he's not writing off. www.irishtimes.com/ireland/dubl... 033
Dave Mathieson @tinydbass.bsky.social · 24/01/2026Not surprising that a minister in this lazy government thinks that the solution to a complex problem is to force cyclists to wear magic clothes so he doesn't have to contemplate all the other, far more effective, measures. @davewalker.bsky.social 36828
Dave Mathieson @tinydbass.bsky.social · 06/01/2026There's also in general a lot of emphasis on meat from agencies, govt and advertising. High emissions are an inherent part of meat production, regardless of the quality of the meat or where it comes from (transport constitutes a very small percentage of emissions for *any* food, including veg) 010
Dave Mathieson @tinydbass.bsky.social · 23/12/2025Nice - this gift to myself arrived today so I'll have to cancel Xmas so I can get stuck into it.... 010
Dave Mathieson @tinydbass.bsky.social · 16/10/2025I guess a search for "Dutch cycling" *could* throw this up.... 110
Dave Mathieson @tinydbass.bsky.social · 11/10/2025Guy here in Galway told me that Catherine Connolly did this to his tin foil. #Smearthebejaysus 57712
Dave Mathieson @tinydbass.bsky.social · 04/06/2025They were a trip hazard back in the days of the Empire. No idea why anyone thinks this a good idea now. 000
Dave Mathieson @tinydbass.bsky.social · 22/05/2025Not Galway-specific, but I really like this one 121
Dave Mathieson @tinydbass.bsky.social · 12/04/2025Can somebody make this make sense? In what universe is driving at this insane speed merely "careless"? www.irishtimes.com/crime-law/co... 040
Dave Mathieson @tinydbass.bsky.social · 27/03/2025What on earth can we do about Galway's notorious gridlock(TM)? With a couple of notable exceptions, most politicians and influential bodies have zero interest in getting people out of cars, and it shows. 2125
