Probably one of my favourite Cymraeg words to say is the Cymraeg for ‘Moss’ - ‘Mwsog’ 💚 Say it like ‘Moo’ as in 🐄 and ‘sog’ as in soggy. Very satisfying to say. More satisfying still if you say it whilst softly stroking a fantastic pillow of Mwsog 💚💚💚

Came across this little beauty, amethyst deceiver, while hiking last week in the mid Willamette Valley in Oregon.

A mushroom called Amethyst Deceiver, purple in color, on a forest floor covered with moss, leaves, and pine needles.

Ramalina fraxinea (Cartilage lichen in English and Isorustojäkälä in Finnish) is common in south Finland (also in my neighbourhood forests in Mustikkamaa), but becomes pretty rare further north you go. It is sensitive to airpollution. This one had striking apothecia (fruiting bodies).

Found a South American Common Toad during a night hike in the rainforest. Got dorsal shots to help with an ID and noticed amazing light absorbing spots on its back. Walked around front and the toad had smooshed down flat. OK buddy, you're a leaf. I don't see you. (Rhinella margaritifera) Ecuador
