Back-to-back Ilona Andrews badassery! Sweep of the Blade - part of the innkeeper series. The whole series is top tier, but this side quest into Maude's story is perfection. Fated Blades - part of the Kinsmen series. Also a fun series but this rival to lovers installment is giddy mayhem. 🪐📚 💙📚

Jennifer Fallon's Wolfblade trilogy is superb. 10/10. No notes! Great cast of characters, a plot built brick built brick, the long game with great pay off, some surprises, some tragedies, lots of triumph and even some excellent humor. #booksky 🪐📚

Covers of the book trilogy, first book features a woman in front of a castle in a purple cloak, second features a young man in warrior garb looking out a castle window, third book feature blond young man in warrior garb with a sword

Wait, so if Hayley and Bill's sex life is already so freaky-deaky that they've done all the things, why does showing her cookies in his office scramble his brain so much he'll go sky diving? Mind you that was the second time she stripped that trench coat off... #BeyondTheGates

Next was Pack Darling duology by Lola Rock. The first book the angst was cranked HIGH. It was almost a exercise in cruelty. The second book was a prolonged grovel. Very readable but I felt both books were a little uneven and needed something ...more for balance. Background work was good. #BookSky

First was the Lola and the Millionaires duology by Kathryn Moon. I am glad this was my intro. Nicely written, distinct personalities among the men. Had workplace drama, a suspense subplot, background trauma, and some good character development work. #Booksky

Reading the Files of Henri Davenforth series by Honor Raconteur in audio. An urban fantasy police procedural with found family and good humor. The narrators are excellent! No audiobooks are available after book six (bummer) but the fun continues with at least five more books after that. #Booksky

There is a coffee table book of nothing but pictures of Prince by his own personal photographer and art director Steve Parke. OF COURSE, I will be getting this! #Prince #Booksky

Screen shot of the cover of the new book of photos of Prince. It is Prince in a sparkly black top staring straight into my soul in ways only he could.

Photo of Prince sitting on grass in a black comfy sweater and pants, with adorable curly hair and glasses. Looking studious and young and carefree and is asking me to hug him and make him my own.

Depressing as hell. Also I was working the most boring job while reading it. I was secretary to a small group of faculty who never needed anything. I read this book AT WORK during the day and getting to a sad part and just putting my head down on my desk and sobbing. LOUDLY. 😂😂

For BHM I am watching one black movie a day. Last night it was Dolemite is My Name. This movie was a damn delight start to finish Da'Vine Joy Randolph and Keegan-Michael Key were stand outs, but EDDIE DAMN MURPHY!! That he didn't get an Oscar nom was a travesty! And Ruth E. Carter did her thing!

Re-watching Will Trent from the pilot. Such a good show. Well cast, well written, stylish, humorous, and Betty the dog! Set in Atlanta it knows that black people 1)exist there and 2)can be different from each other. Also knows how to redeem an unsympathetic character so it feels earned. #WillTrent

Reading City of the Lost by Kelley Armstrong. It is about an off the grid town that will help people disappear for awhile. Dalton is my favorite character. I like his whole vibe. A bit of a renaissance man who takes no shit but can apologize and be vulnerable. Also he cusses a lot. #Booksky

Just finished Turns of Fate, the first book in the Isle of Wyrd series by Anne Bishop. Can't remember the last time I got so immersed in a book I had to force myself to stop reading and pace myself. I loved her 'The Others' series and this reminded me a little of that series. #Booksksy
