October 9th. Edward Fern. Died on 3rd August 1851.
A slay clay ghost, in the form of a sackcloth bag, tied up with jute.

For Day 9, allow us to introduce Edward Fern, one of Endly's Sackcloth Ghosts!

Edward died on 3rd August 1851 and has been making the very best of things ever since.

He is a modest little fellow, with a fondness for simple comforts, old-fashioned manners and keeping things that might one day come in useful. His pockets, were he to possess any, would undoubtedly be filled with string, bent nails, interesting stones and at least one unidentified object of considerable sentimental value.

When not pottering about, Edward enjoys Moss Appreciation, Experimental Whittling, listening to the conversations of crows and arranging fallen leaves according to how important they look.

He's a thoughtful soul who believes that everything, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant, deserves a little care and attention.

October 4th. Clover Merriweather. Died on 21st November 1895.
A small clay ghost with a black balloon and pointy party hat.

Day 4 of our October introductions, meet Clover Merriweather!

Clover Merriweather departed this mortal coil on 21st November 1895 and has been waiting for the party to get properly started ever since.

As one of Endly's Party Ghosts, Clover is always prepared. She has a hat. She has a balloon. She has many requests for the DJ. ("You got any Ministry?")

Her hobbies include Advanced Balloon Upkeep, Frantic Dance for Experts, and attempting to put cocktail sticks into increasingly unsuitable small foods.

Clover may sometimes look as though nobody else turned up, but don't be fooled.

Clover is the party.

October 8th. Walter and Jennie Wisp. Died on 23rd Spetember 1922.
Two clay ghosts under one 'sheet'

October 8th brings us Walter and Jennie Wisp, two of Endly's more unusual residents!

Walter and Winnie passed away on 23rd September 1922 and have spent the subsequent century or so sharing a sheet, an arrangement which appears to suit them both rather well.

Walter is a dreamer, inclined towards long gazes, imaginary journeys and collecting the names of distant places. Jennie is rather more practical, with a fondness for Neat Handwriting and Biscuit Classification. She finds great pleasure in laughing at distant places with rude sounds names.

They have also developed a rather elaborate system of sighs for communicating when neither feels much like talking.

October 3rd. Sister Beatrix Ende Died on 1st January 1500
A clay sheet ghost holding a sign that reads "THE END IS NIGH"

Our third spirited resident of October is Sister Beatrix Ende!
Sister Beatrix departed this mortal realm on 1st January 1500 and has been expecting everyone else to follow shortly ever since.

As one of Endly's Doomsday Ghosts, Beatrix has something of a preoccupation with the end times. Over the centuries she has confidently predicted the end on 147 separate occasions and considers her current lack of success merely a technicality.

Away from prophecy, Beatrix enjoys Extreme Pessimism, Recreational Foreboding, counting magpies and making tiny packup lunches for journeys she has no intention of taking. She dislikes frivolity before noon.

For all her doom-mongering, she's suprisingly good company and generally very optimistic about things that aren't the complete and irreversible destruction of existence.

The end is nigh. Tea first, though.

October 5th. Baroness Klara Weissdorf. Died on 17th April 1892.
A small ghost figurine, in grey, wearing a black scarf with diamond brooch.

October 5th, and it was really only a matter of time before we encountered a Grey Lady.

Allow us to introduce Baroness Klara Weissdorf, who died on 17th April 1892 and has maintained impeccable standards ever since.

Elegant, reserved and unfailingly courteous, Baroness Weissdorf is a lady of the old European aristocracy who appreciates good manners, intelligent conversation and the importance of dressing appropriately for dinner. She speaks several languages, has strong opinions on table linen and can identify an inferior champagne glass from across a moderately sized room.

Her quieter pursuits include Correspondence, Botanical Illustration and the careful restoration of antique lace.

She is also an enthusiastic arm wrestler.

The Baroness rarely discusses this particular passion. She simply removes her jewellery, rolls up one sheet sleeve and issues her challenge.

She remains undefeated

Conscience... Are you they? Would... would it be going too far to make the Teletubbies as sheet ghosts, and then include detailed stories of the horrific, traumatic, karmic way in which each one died?

Cleaning the fluff and stuff out from the washing machine, and just at the top there's this hole where you have to push in with two fingers and kinda curl them back towards you and wiggly them back and forth- All I'm saying is that when the machines take over, they remember all this effort I put in
