TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 10/05/2026That’s a good point, I’ve never blocked anyone before, didn’t know how it works. You saw though. 100
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 10/05/2026Congratulations, first person I’ve ever blocked. 110
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 10/05/2026Ordered you. God I’m so glad I don’t know you. Good luck with your virtue signalling - it’s people like you that led to MAGA. 100
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 10/05/2026All this proves is that you trawled my timeline, trying to find something problematic, and failed. 000
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 10/05/2026You’re still posting about me now. If I don’t matter to you, just let it go. 200
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 10/05/2026Says I don’t matter to her, goes on to post multiple times about me. 200
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 10/05/2026There are about 15 separate people telling me how terrible I am at the moment, sorry if I don’t reply to everybody individually. I can’t tell who’s who, sorry if that makes you feel ignored. 000
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 10/05/2026My friends and colleagues see my exactly as I expect to be seen. You think you know me from a few 300 character posts on social media. 100
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 10/05/2026I like this message. I’ve never been good at taking criticism, I get very defensive. Particularly when I can’t see that I did anything wrong. I still don’t think my initial comment deserved calling out, but the following argument took me by surprise and I was wrong to engage in it. 110
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 10/05/2026I’ve decided Blusky is more vicious that Twitter. The reason is that the people who pile on you on Bluesky are people you agree with. On Twitter it’s a bunch of Neanderthal racists so it doesn’t matter what they say. 1210
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 10/05/2026Take it negatively if you like, I know there is nothing I can say that won’t be. 000
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 10/05/2026I’m happy to admit to cowardice. I also think people misunderstood where I was coming from and the whole argument was something I’m not used to. I thought I was being supportive, if I was being racist I don’t want it staying up for the world to see. I was about to delete my account completely. 200
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 10/05/2026If I were really against racism, I’d clearly be against myself. I’m clearly fully in support of, and indulging in, racism. 000
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 10/05/2026I just don’t normally get into arguments at all. The last time I did it was defending Muslims. 200
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 10/05/2026I’m actively fighting racism - we have our own fascist threat rising in the UK, I joined and campaign for the Green Party specifically to prevent Reform from taking office. My job is helping African immigrants out of homelessness - I guess that could be seen as white saviour complex… 100
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 10/05/2026I do know that, we call it “othering” in the UK. It can seem positive but still be racism. 200
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 10/05/2026OK I agree I’m a racist no matter how hard I try not to be, and will try harder. 100
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 10/05/2026I can admit that given the language barrier, and my misunderstanding of the point of your post, and my not knowing who you are, I came across as racist. That said, my responses would have been the same if a white person had posted them. I apologise. Should I try harder or stay out of it completely? 510
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 10/05/2026If someone looks at my profile and reads my posts, that’s one thing. Posting a screenshot and saying this is a racist is very different. 300
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 10/05/2026I am learning today. I’m learning not to comment on strangers posts without checking who they are first. I’m well aware of non-intentional racism, I’ve been guilty of it in the past, I thought I was up to speed. 100
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 10/05/2026I haven’t, someone reposted his comment, I thought it made sense and commented with what I thought was a slightly daft but supportive comment. 100
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 10/05/2026The only time I pushed back (intentionally) was when you suggested I was doing it for racist reasons. I’m not going to block you because I am going to take the lesson on board, but I do want you to know that I think it’s all a misunderstanding, probably based on UK/ISA cultural differences. 300
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 10/05/2026Then we’re talking semantics. I think most of this thread has been based on assumptions. I didn’t realise your position when making the post, I added a comment and was surprised at the response. I did not intend to suggest you were any way wrong, I did not intend to argue. 100
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 10/05/2026In this country, aggro is short for aggravation 400
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 10/05/2026I didn’t argue, I just missed the significance of the “white people” part of the post. I totally agree that the gerrymandering is racist and never intended to imply otherwise. I was so surprised at the type of response I got, I just thought he didn’t know the film. 100
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 10/05/2026Yes, as in aggravation. You posted a photo of me to your 25k followers and invited them to pile in on me because I’m “racist”, and they are doing so. That is definitely aggravation by any measure. Save it for people who actually are racist. 400
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 10/05/2026Because this is not worth the aggro. I’m a fully left wing ant-racist person and somehow I’ve been portrayed as racist and vilified. All for making a lighthearted, not at all racist comment about a film based on American voters getting more stupid. 200
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 10/05/2026As I said on the other thread, I haven’t changed sides, I was saying I came in support and for no good reason received what felt like abuse. 500
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 10/05/2026I spent a lot of time learning about conspiracy theories for my book. While I don’t think it’s true to say that all conspiracy theories are antisemitism, the algorithms always lead you to articles/videos that eventually say “the Jews are to blame”. 1142
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 09/05/2026You missed out, Infinity war/Endgame are awesome and tie up a surprising number of storylines 000
Reposted by TimWhitehouseParody Nigel Farage @parodypm.bsky.social · 09/05/2026Reform's election success would not have been possible without thick, gullible morons like this chap, who thinks refugees get given £5,000 handouts over and over again. 85488159
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 08/05/2026Me too - first record I ever bought was Licence to Ill. 000
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 08/05/2026Perfect, just as universities are cutting humanities courses 0110
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 05/05/2026That is true, but not by anywhere near as much. The estimate for Muslims was roughly 3x the truth, for Jews it was 16x. By the way, I don’t have huge problem with all this, I just wanted to point out how perceptions will be skewed when data is presented this way - I don’t think its useful 200
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 05/05/2026I’m annoyed with myself for getting sucked in and aware I sound a bit “all lives matter”, which also annoys me, but now I feel I have to defend a minor point about where the UK public is - way more people are Islamophobic than Antisemitic but the graph makes it look the opposite. 000
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 05/05/2026There’s a constant narrative in this country that Muslims are worth less than Jews - it’s constantly in the press, just try replacing the word Muslim with the word Jew in negative headlines and stop to think what the reaction would be. I’m just a bit sick of it, and this graph seems to further it. 100
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 05/05/2026The important factor here is that when surveyed, the UK public believed there were about 5 million Jews. Omitting the actual figures means that the average person will be misled by this graph. The same would apply if they thought there were only 5000 Jews in the country, but in reverse. 100
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 05/05/2026A recent survey showed that the UK population massively overestimated the number of Jews in the country - average estimate was 5 million as oppose to 300k. So yes, including the actual numbers is important as the average person is misinformed and does not know how to read graphs. 100
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 04/05/2026But if you thought there were similar numbers of Jews and Muslims in the country, you’d think most of the country hated Jews and were fine with Muslims. 200
TimWhitehouse @timwhitehouse.bsky.social · 04/05/2026I am aware of that and I’m annoyed I’ve been coaxed into arguing a corner. But presenting the facts that way makes a weighted comparison which diminishes Islamophobia. 010
