I think for a lot of EV drivers the temptation to stick your foot down is quite strong and many don't consider the impact that has on passengers. If you're aware of it then you can mitigate it a great deal. And all EVs have the ability to dial down regen levels, if you find that's the main cause.

My wife, Kat, doesn't get motion sick when I'm driving our EV but is prone to it, generally. I consider myself to be a pretty smooth driver so I'm sure that helps. Anyway, don't let this sort of reporting put you off!

It's mostly about how people drive them. It's totally possible to drive an EV smoothly. It's true that EVs are capable of quicker acceleration etc. but it's not mandatory to stick your foot down at every opportunity. You and your passengers would be fine if you drove sensibly.

This is for my neighbours. They are already with Axle but currently Axle don't optimise their battery. Capture could optimise their battery but I don't know how the Flex events with Capture compare to those from Axle. Basically I want to know which to recommend.

Quick question for anyone who has signed up to the Capture Energy service for home batteries (in particular Fox ESS). How have you found it, and are you getting regular grid Flex sessions that pay you some extra income? I'm particularly interested in how it compares to Axle.

Before I had #solarpanels and a #homebattery installed I calculated how much I'd save each year off my energy bill. Most years I have smashed that original prediction, this year I've almost reached that target with 3 months still to go! Solar and batteries make such a difference

There are two types of Intelligent Octopus: Go and Flux, with Intelligent Flux being the one where they control your battery, so yup, if you're on Intelligent Flux there's no point getting something like this. It'd work particularly well if you were on Agile, for example.

I play less now than I used to, but I still enjoy single player games occasionally. I tried Fortnite a few years back but was never any good at it. I consider Outer Wilds to be the best game ever created. Definitely not to most people's tastes but a masterpiece to a certain category of gamer.

I'm getting old and slow now so tend to turn the difficulty down too, but I've still got a decent amount of general gaming muscle memory that gets me through most challenges. Astro Bot is a total joy though, if you ever enjoyed the 3D platformer collectathons of the late 90s/early 2000s.

Yes, indeed, that was my main concern too. They are backed by Midsummer Wholesale though, so that could help provide some stability. They're also a bit pricier than Fox, for example.

Yeah, I looked at the specs for it and it did say a couple of seconds to switch. Apparently their AIO battery (Evo?) is instant, but that's more expensive per kWh and less modular.

I was investigating Eleven and Fox. Fox seem the best in terms of value per kWh, and our neighbours just got a system installed so I will be keeping an eye on that to see how they get on with it. Lots of third party services seem to support Fox too (e.g. Axle). I like the Fox CQ7 stack.

Yes, our west facing room with the large bifolds has a 4.5 kW unit and we find that pretty much sufficient. We still use a lot more energy for heating than for cooling overall, despite this latest crazy summer!
