Very glad to see the #HardFork and SearchEngine podcast Fediverse community server the #Forkiverse continuing to thrive. So they are at 10,000 or so registered users, and hovering at a healthy 1.4 thousand of those as monthly active users. That tracks to normal rates on social. 🧵 1/3

A post by "olive consumer" discusses Tyler Robinson's apparent motivations, describing him as an "online-poisoned idiot gamer" rather than a "violent antifascist leftist" or "groyper."

A small but big thing: every profile UX on the open social web should copy #Threads: Show the full handle w/ domain plus a “Copy” button in account details. None do now—Mastodon, Bluesky, PixelFed, etc. Only Threads does, and it’s a must-have.

A description of the Fediverse is provided, explaining user connectivity across servers, along with a username for sharing within the network.

There is a sound of ocean waves that I’m convinced cannot be fully captured by any digital recording. I don’t know if it is overtones/undertones…but it’s like the difference between hearing a live band vs. a recording of one. The only way to really hear an ocean is to sit in person and listen.

#NoKings Day Protest on June 14th. If you were considering going before, it is 10X more crucial for a massive show of organizing power now. Change whatever plans you have to now to join in. Here is a link to join in: buff.ly/0HkoLc3%E2%8...

Trying out #GoboSocial toolset that launched on #Fediforum... So far impressed with the mix of simplicity and customiztion for posting across Mastodon and Bluesky at once. Not yet sure how it helps with charcter limits, but nice work, @chandrn.bsky.social

A note: I now use #Microblog for over half my social posting, cross-posting feaatures to Bluesky, Medium, Threads, Tumbr, etc….& I now use #Surfapp from #Flipboard for over half the time - to read, engage, & reply on Bluesky, Mastodon, and many RSS feeds. Open Social Web FTW!

I just bought my tickets to this year’s #Fediforum, and if you care about the Open Social Web - both Bluesky and Mastodon/Fediverse enabled offerings and beyond—you should too. Very worth your time.
