New trucker hat coming at ya! (Somehow he doesn't seem as enthused as I thought he'd be.)

Equal parts horror, humor, heroics, and heart, The Family Graves: I Scream Spectacular is a 30-page full-color one-shot comic book featuring the exciting return of everyone’s favorite monster family adventurers: The Family Graves. And they are back to stop the Brainpocalypse! The what?! Well . . .

When a lab accident causes a brain to mutate into a giant flying monster, hangry and rampaging across Chicago, only the telepathic fish-boy Lum has a shot at making the connection the brain is looking for. Did we mention the flying brain spurts out puss minions and shoots lightning? It’s gross, scary, and a little bit silly.

It’s like The Munsters meets The Fantastic Four--a spooky sci-fi adventure starring a mixed-up family of monsters: a werewolf dad, medusa mom, teen siren, fish-boy, and an adorable baby zombie, who are the only ones with the mad science to save us all from the terror of the Brainpocalypse!

Written by Timothy Bach; drawn by Brian Atkins; colored by Joshua Jensen; with letters and production by Marco Della Verde. Cover C, drawn by Frederik Hornung; 30 pages.

No spoilers, but commercials made me think Crime 101 was going to be all car actiony. However, it turns out it’s more of a mature crime drama with a few cool action scenes. Strong performances all around. Great example of modern LA noir.

Almost there. We return to the earlier heroic pose, zoomed in for dramatic effect, and we've added some of the titular Space Witches. It's almost there... And, hey, looks like we're still positioning that bracelet prominently. There's gotta be a reason for that...

Here, Brian really comes at us with some kinetic energy. Exciting stuff is happening. Violent creatures crashing in. Crystals pulsing with energy. Character's eyes alive with power... and that bracelet again. Hmm, this one's not bad. Maybe we should've gone with this...
