Went to look up what Newton did with alchemy, found this.

A screenshot of Wikipedia, section called Alchemical research. Turns out somewhere in 1878 the government bureaucrats confused бабр (old word for tiger) and бобр (beaver), turning Irkutsk’a coat of arms from being “a tiger with a sable in its mouth” to “a beaver with a sable in its mouth” ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%91%...
