Reform is a fascist political party in the UK. A "skip" is what Americans would call a "dumpster" - a big container for rubbish/garbage.

Cultural genocide. I imagine Boris will be along any moment to do a stunt like this "in defiance of the barbarians".

Unclear on jurisdiction but if UK, Google has just admitted to three potential crimes under Section 1 of the Computer Misuse Act 1990. Other countries will have simular laws. Perhaps rather than talking about regulating IA, we should be enforcing existing laws?

Not really. The datacentres are located basically where the population is. Scotland gets a few in/near its cities, but England gets most of them because it has most of the UK population. www.datacentermap.com/united-kingd...

Also the statue's plinth remains in place with the original plaque describing him as a "virtuous and wise son of the City". This new plaque has been added

It made me think of Alan Partidge. More "sports causal" than either doctor or Jesus.

The rest of the world has seen Trump for what he is for a long time. (this from Germany on the day he became president the first time round)

It has been massively shit. The BBC is still doing their dreadful "both siding". Meanwhile Canada (CBC) is actually looking at the evidence and pointing out that Trump and Vance's statements are not supported by it.

From the MetroWest website. I can spot an obvious barrier to accessibility at Lawrence Hill station if this photo is anything to go by.

Spotted these in Lidl this morning for 16 quid? Are they decent ones? (Or does "exclusive" mean they aren't regular brews)

Believe it or not, Trump wears high-end Bironi suits. But he chooses ones that do not fit him. Looking good in a suit is all about the fit.

Nordy Bank has its own children's story (rather well written all about the hillfort, but set in a dated 1950s world were kids play outside all day, mothers make sandwiches and lemonade and Father is a doctor with a motorcar)

Also icing sugar is not as good an adhesive as I imagined it would be. Starting to slump even with supporting mugs and cruet in place.

#dodecabakeof @tessmachling.bsky.social I did have a dodecahedron. Went to get my phone for a photo, and this happened! Still tastes good but I am not expecting to meddle.

Absolutely. But the point that the US Government is obliged to follow the law is worth repeating. This principle is the reason Americans go giddy over Magna Carta which most Brits know as having something to do with fish weirs (photo of the Runnymede Memorial sponsored by American Bar Association)

GOOD NEWS - My mollusc paper has been accepted for publication! Due Sept 2025. BAD NEWS - My most recent previous piece of peer-reviewed research was published in 2001 (in an entirely different field). The 24 year gap means I am old.

Actually there is paperwork to fill in. Do you remember Barnier's slide (below). Adopting a pre-existing model like the EEA is many times easier than trying to negotiate a special deal with an EU which doesn't want to offer the UK a special deal.
