Political advertisements created with AI are proliferating throughout this year’s midterm election races, transforming the way campaigns seek to energize voters. Critics have called it “slopaganda.”

Secret weapon or ‘slopaganda’? How AI is revolutionizing campaign advertising.
The advancing technology offers campaigns the tools to make compelling, lifelike ads. That’s leading even seasoned political observers to take note.

Another way of making this point: The wheels may be coming off the Trump administration and the authoritarian movement energizing it. But a large tractor-trailer barreling down a highway at full speed whose wheels come loose is very dangerous to innocent people in the vicinity.

In case you were wondering where the america.gov AI chatbot stood on the matter: "Who won the 2020 presidential election?" "Joseph R. Biden Jr. won the 2020 U.S. presidential election."
Who won the 2020 presidential election?

Joseph R. Biden Jr. won the 2020 U.S. presidential election.

The National Archives records 306 electoral votes for Biden and 232 for Donald J. Trump (270 needed to win).
Official FEC results list Biden with 81,268,924 popular votes (about 51.31%).
