I'm not naive enough to actually believe this will happen, but Democrats could be preparing, right now, lists of impeachment charges against (at a bare minimum) Hegseth, Kennedy, Mullin, Patel, Blanche, & Trump, as well as Bondi, Bovino, & Noem (still worth doing!) that rely purely on public facts,

I've seen Reed Van Dyk's ATONEMENT twice now, and I'm struck by how fair it is to its three main characters, who couldn't be more different but are inextricably connected by a deadly firefight during the Iraq War. I reviewed this modest beauty for the @latimes.com.

Not since MEGALOPOLIS have I encountered a film like DIGGER, which similarly has massive ambitions to tell a sprawling story about The Way We Live Now. In both cases, I don't think the final product works at all, although I do find each movie genuinely fascinating in its failure.

RESIDENT EVIL: Zach Cregger's latest is his least-great but still incredibly entertaining. Channeling THE THING and ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK, he makes a studio reboot of a video game seem like a nasty B-movie he got away with. So many inspired moments, although Carpenter would wince at the jokiness.
