The first hands-on Python session for #BikeNetKit, today at #D3A, went well! Our 15 min tutorial for GrowBikeNet is also available online - try it out here: github.com/BikeNetKit/tutorials/blo… Here is how our software would fix Nyborg's bike network:

Nice paper, finally on arxiv: Higher-order interactions reveal synergistic backbones of cycling infrastructure networks arxiv.org/abs/2609.16285
Street network of Hamburg with a "nicely" grown bicycle network of 65 km that looks like a ring road. Starting from the set of the ten bidirectional links with the highest length-normalized first-order importance (orange), we iteratively add links with the largest length-normalized cross-synergy (see Methods for details). The upgraded links (blue) form a connected network backbone already for a small total length of 65 km of added bike paths, maximizing the contributions of cross-synergies to total network performance.

Cool looking paper! Geometry of Urban Order arxiv.org/abs/2609.13029
Decomposition of street networks into bearings communities for nine representative cities (δ = 10◦) where edges are
colored by community. For the sake of visibility, we show here the central 6 km × 6 km region of the 10-km analysis disc. The
three rows illustrate the three limiting regimes of urban morphology identified in this work (Fig. 6). Top row, grid-like: Mar del
Plata (Argentina), Xi’an (China), and Denver (United States), each dominated by very few orthogonal frames extending across
the urban area. Middle row, polycrystalline: Maring ́a (Brazil), Perth (Australia), and Amsterdam (Netherlands), composed of
several large, internally ordered domains with distinct orientations meeting along sharp boundaries

It seems #Google #scholar has now really become #slopware. Every week I get weirder and weirder edit suggestions, this time to revert several published papers to their preprint versions.. Is #openalex the future of scientometric data/search? 🫣

Out of curiosity: for those that do #geospatial #datascience, how common is it to use Open-Source #GIS software like #QGIS instead of #ArcGIS, etc. #opensource #FOSS

Looking for tips for relocation to #Copenhagen. Are there any residents/locals out there with suggestions for finding good housing and/or jobs? Preferably early-career data science positions. Or even just to connect and start a conversation about the wonderful city 😎 #Denmark #DataScience
