Learning more about the brilliance of the medical record data at the University Hospital Geneva. This plot, from pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34643542/ shows how medical informatics researchers have introduced , & clinicians passively adopted, a set list of phrases, reducing new free text.

Update from the Geneva Common Disease Genetics and Genomics team. Welcoming newcomer Anna Ramisch with a day out visiting the super smart Kutalik team in Lausanne. And some sunny early Springtime Alps as a backdrop. That's the dream team of Aurélie, Liza, Lauric, some old bloke and Anna (l to r).

Here's the data. Can someone let Nigel Farage, Marine le Pen, the AFD, etc etc know ? Not just the numbers themselves, but even worse for the shift towards older populations relying on fewer younger people in the workforce.

Here's a screenshot of the app: browse around 2546 pairs Shared genetics on the X, primary care co-occurrence on the Y axis:

And here is the additive effect between your Educational attainment Polygenic score and your burden of rare variants in DD genes (some noisiness in those with 3 damaging DD rare variants as fewer of them) www.nature.com/articles/s41...

And the idea of “phenotypic outliers”: e.g. those reported having no qualifications recorded despite having an EA PGS in the top decile were more likely to be rare DD variant carriers.

For example, among carriers of rare DD variants, those with a DD-related diagnosis had a substantially lower Educational attainment PGS than those without a clinical diagnosis. The liability model in action – your adverse polygenic background “pushes you into the clinic” if you have a rare variant

First bluesky post. A picture of blue sky near Geneva. And a small prediction : lots of exciting times ahead in human genetics based research and healthcare
