Having been let go in the states years ago…and going through this process now… There is a written process, but so far I’m not impressed by it. Missing info, unclear responses, and a very short window to do it all (min 30 day consultation before final decision made)

In the UK yeah. Theres is a process of consultation around the process (can it be avoided, suggestions to avoid, etc.) but I’m at risk…and been supporting colleagues since we were told last week.

Whilst I won’t comment on the details of this past week, I will say this: I deeply love and appreciate my colleagues, the District I’m aligned to, and the wider church I have the privilege of supporting. The next few months will be challenging to say the least; but prepping for a fight.

I think the best way to summarise my job over the last four week would be… It’s like we’ve had 10 seasons of Greys Anatomy happen back to back, with no breaks, and you become emotionally detached to everything so you just laugh awkwardly while your brain catches up on what happened last week today

I’m taking the morning to read over some anonymous feedback around training I facilitate. We asked questions about the challenges in their ministry, topics they want to cover, etc. The main theme (so far) coming out is around burnout, low morale, and the need practical, simple tools and resources.

Additionally, while every background now gives an Origin feat, only 5 of the Backgrounds offer a choice of 2 Origin feats. (Which are all the backgrounds from the new Ravenloft Book and the Subscriber Perk background, Pact Seeker)

In theory, if you wanted to take a background that offered a chance of a Strength ASI, you only have 7 to choose from in the 5.5e Core, and a further 17 in 5.5e Expanded, which makes it the lowest amount of options vs the next highest ability score, Dexterity, with 30 backgrounds to choose from.
